My newest timetable is available for download in the download section.

A Timetable for Exeter based on 05.01.2024, During this day the line between Totnes & Plymouth was closed for engineering possession till 0600 meaning there are some amendments to the early morning services. Also, the Barnstaple branch was under possession till 0500, but this does not affect services. It is then also closed from 0100 the next day for a weekend-long possession. There will be an engineer train arriving from Westbury for this possession. Due to various issues with train crew or unit failures, this timetable recreates as closely as possible what services ran on the day, so some services that are in the WTT are missing if they were canceled due to traincrew issues. Especially XC Services.

Also due to sim limitations, the speed on the Okehampton Branch is the old speeds so Okehampton trains will run late. Due to the single track, this may also affect Barnstaple Trains.

Also please note that Marsh Barton is not on this sim yet trains in either direction may arrive early at Exeter St Thomas or Starcross.

The basic Service pattern is as follows.

Great Western Railway
1tph Paddington - Plymouth/Penzance, 2tph between Paddington - Plymouth in the peak hours.
There are also a few Paddington-Exeter, Taunton, or Paignton services throughout the day.
1tph Cardiff - Taunton, With most extending westward toward Plymouth or Penzance.
1tph Exeter Central-Barnstaple
1tph Exeter Central - Okehampton
2tph Exmouth - Paignton

Cross Country
1tph Edinburgh-Plymouth, with some extensions to/from Penzance and Aberdeen, However, there is disruption to these services due to ongoing Traincrew issues.
There were also meant to be 3 trains a day from Manchester - Paignton but again due to Traincrew issues only one of these ran.

South Western Railway
1tph London Waterloo - Exeter St Davids

Freight is quiet in the area with a couple of freights, some loco movements, and also some track machine movements ready for the weekend.

Hi
There are a couple of points on the TT so far.
I see that there are a few Waterloo's flagged up in the Tools Warning section. They are all missing the platform number at ESD, a minor point.
5L29 is stated as a 2/158+3/159 but the train characteristics have GWR 2/158/7+2/158/7.
9S00 should have an entry time in order for the rule to kick in.

The one problem I have found is that the TT states its based upon the services that ran in the 5th January , but there are differences between this TT and the real time info.
E.g. You have 1S55 dividing at ESD forming 1M61 because 1V47 did not run, but according to real time information 1V47 did run on the 5th January to Paignton and 1M61 ran from Paignton.

On the waterloos that day, a number of services ran only to and from Yeovil from Waterloo due to the bad weather. There were shuttles from Exeter to Axminster later in the day to provide a service, which are not in the TT. Likewise the Sleeper ran Friday night from Penzance which is also not included.

Is the date of the TT correct ? I'm not being critical ,Ive just observed that, that days real time info does tie up fully with the TT. If the TT is generic through the period of the first week in January, no problem.

Thank you for this timetable. Very good & certainly keeps you on your toes.

Helpful hint for Okehampton...
PSAD anything for Okehampton at Crediton. If you signal it to Okehampton using the triangle, only the Shunt indicator shows on CN4, and the train travels at 30mph to Okehampton all the way.
If you PSAD it, it runs at 39mph (and back - Okehampton to Crediton) which then brings the 'lateness' down, and should only be a few minutes late into EXC.

That's a helpful info, thanks. Until now I've just imagined a 30 mph ESR all the way down to Okehampton due to whatever reason

Thats ok.
It was going ok, but the 2 units doing the OKE were just getting later and later, then one of them had a delay at CDI and then both of them were 1+ hour late so ended up turning them at EXD instead of EXC, then noticed the shunt indicator lighting up at CRD
