I have a points failure at Doncaster Station. This is beginning to hold up several trains, one of which is 2P05 in Platform 0. This train is destined for Hatfield and Stainforth.
Usually I would route it using the ‘via’ button H, but can’t because of this failure.
IRL, in order to avoid excessive delay to this train, would the signaller be able to send via signal D1489, or would the driver just have to sit it out?
In the sim this is actually possible, but may be considered ‘cheating’
I’d be interested to know the answer 😊

I've attached a saved game, but for the life of me, I don't know why 😅

You can set a main route from D305 via 'W' to D307 on the down line.

Yes, you can and that is what happens when you set the route from D305 to D 307, but that is via the 'H' via button and the points failure won't allow it.

If you look at my question again, you'll see that asked if it could be routed via signal D1489 (i.e. route from signal D305 to Signal D1489 to signal D307)

The points failure is indicated in the attached screenshot.

As Zecs said you can route Via "W" from D305 to D307
D305 to D307 can be either Via "H" or "W"

MarkC. You're right. I misread Zecs' post as I said in the previous post.
