Does anyone have a speed limits map for the Crewe sim? I can't find one on the Wiki. With Crewe relying so much on regulation and if you have delays/failures turned on, you can end up making a lot of interesting decisions and trying to put trains into the right order etc. Sadly though with no speed limit information, it's rather hard to do the right thing. I notice that sadly Crewe doesn't have a speed limit map and so I am struggling at times to know what is the quickest route for a train. I have tried a few different ways but with each train it seems to act differently.

Anyone able to assist?

Thank you in advance.

Hope this helps, this is a brief outline of speeds through Crewe

Independent Lines - 10MPH
Fast Lines (Excluding Crewe) - 110MPH, EPS 125MPH over much of this
Slow Lines (South of Crewe) - 100MPH
Slow Lines (North of Crewe) + Main Lines north of Winsford - 75MPH
Crewe Station Up & Down Fast lines - 85MPH
Crewe Station over all pointwork, 20MPH (Except where there are flashing yellows where speeds may be between 50 & 60MPH)
Up & Down Liverpool, 85MPH, with EPSD / EPSE 90/100 in places
Gresty Lane - 70. Loops, sidings etc 15

There will likely be a few exceptions to what I've put here

James

Hi James, Thank you for this, it is helpful.

My issues are mostly Basford Hall and Winsford - Coal Yards. Sometimes if I want/need to reorder trains it seems to take forever to switch trains from fast to slow lines (and vice versa)
For example a train from Coal Yards junction going onto the slow seems to be significantly quicker at getting to Winsford versus using the DS-DF points and the use the fast line. UF-US points to at Coal Yards jct seems to take so long for a train to go over it, especially in comparison to Winsford whereby its so quick them going over the points.

Also around Basford Hall, the time to put a train from the fast onto the slow seems to take forever. Almost as if it's quicker to have 3 trains in a queue on the fasts than it is to route one onto the slow (which for P7/8/11/12 trains has the added benefit with conflicting movements but seems to be stupidly slow).

No probs

The pointwork at Winsford is 75MPH, which is why you'll see a train able to take this quickly and easily

I've just double checked the sim data on this one to ensure there isn't an error. The distance a train travels from the Down Independent to the Down Slow is the same as it is to the Down Fast, although the Slow to Fast crossover is 15 vice 10 for the independents. Does it maybe feel quite slow to you because you see how far ahead the other train gets in the time it takes one to come off the independents?

Basford Hall is 25 across the various pointwork, but it's spread out over quite a distance that makes it feel slow.

One thing I hadn't quite picked up on when I wrote the sim. Crewe generally has a good speed restriction, until you want to switch lines, and then its painfully slow in a lot of places

That's spot on. If for arguments sake the trains come out of the independent lines in the wrong order and I want or need to reorder them, by the time train 2 is onto the fast, train 1 is about 3 signals away from Winsford Junction. Train 2 was only a loco too but still took forever to get over the points.

That's why I thought I'd check what the limits are. Also for the likes of the DS-DF points here here it's useful sometimes to get 2 trains out of Crewe, one on the fast the other on the slow but by the time it's over the DS-DF points, you've lost seemingly more time than just making trains wait then follow eachother on the fast or run the train on the slow line all the way to Winsford.

I'm starting to figure that bit out haha. There seems to be no benefit at all in trying to get parallel movements in or out of the station by making them switch tracks and avoid a queue. Trains seem to move quicker in a stop start queue. What a backwards station haha.

Thank you for your help, it's really appreciated.
