These crossings are operated by the signaller at Beckington I believe so inaffect acting as a crossing keeper for Doncaster. Putting a reminder on these signals wouldnt do anything for this reason. Attached a photo of the real panel.

Looking at that photo, D760 is an auto, so collaring it won't do anything. (Collars work on route setting, not aspect controls.)

The "oi!" phone calls only apply to AHB, ABCL, AOCL, MCL, and TEL crossings, not MCBs (whether CCTV or not). So there's something odd going on with those crossings.

Whilst playing Doncaster Station Simsig, several times having collared up (placing reminder appliances) on signals at Danger protecting crossings on the Up & Down Lincoln lines, having given permission for large loads, slow vehicles etc to cross, I was getting phone calls with message, I thought you told me it was safe. Investigating further I discovered the following faults.
.....
Unless there is a special feature at Doncaster, normally when collaring a controlled or semi-auto signal, as these protecting signals are, it prevents the signal from clearing, in other words maintaining them at Danger. This is the case on the Doncaster Station Simsig for other protecting signals on the Up & Down Lincoln not mentioned above and those at Sutton CCTV near Ranskill Loops. I haven't tested those northern end of Doncaster Station.
How long has this been a Simsig feature? I didn't realise you could collar 3rd party controlled/slotted signals to prevent them clearing. is this some sort of compromise vs real life where it doesn't work that way?

My friend, none of those are controlled signals.

Your only options to protect those crossings are controlled signals at Bessacarr Jn (up line) and the emergency replacement button on D757 near Broomston (down line).

The signals you refer to are all automatic, whether they have the permissive plate displayed or otherwise.

I will leave it up to a railwayman of your experience to know what happens when you put a block on an automatic signal.

Piping hot regards,

In reality, I suspect the signaller on Doncaster Panel would be able to instruct the crossing keeper to maintain their signals at Danger to protect the UWCs for you.

What's this "Code 2" thing and what looks like something similar related to 760?

Code 2 is probably an AWS fault - horn instead of a bell

The other label looks like phone scripting for temporary block working in both directions/3.5 working?

3.5 Working is implemented from the 1st October till the end of the RHTT Season on that section as a matter of course. It has been for the last few years and it is listed in the Network Rail's Autumn arrangements information that we get sent every year.

Can I ask what the reason is? Not seen or heard that before.

Yeah,

The reason was because the line was lightly used and to certain extent it is compared to other lines in the area despite most intermodal traffic now been taken off the ECML. The line suffered with a lot of wrong side failures even the RHTT vanished at one point on that section of line to mitigate against 3.5 was implemented every leaf fall season.
The same was done between Gilberdyke and Selby trains had to clear Howden before another could be sent towards Selby. Also Castleford to Milford Jn was another area where this occurred. Was never a problem tho when the Vegetation used to be maintained regularly.
