Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I am playing the above timetable on the Brighton sim, and 5P07 has to go to platform 2 from the West Carriage Road, only it doesn't seem to fit and won't clear the junction:

Is this a timetable error or is this something else to do with the oft-reported issues with this Platform?

Is this the 5P07 that enters at 0445? I just tried it myself and had no issues.

If you start a new game and try again, does it happen every time?

Putting "far end stop" in the schedule might fix this.

Yeah it is, although it has to stay there until Platform 2 is free. Four runs of the sim over the last few days - 2 worked and 2 it got stuck.

Worth a go - I will look at this for next time and report back. Also will try loading a snapshot and seeing if it happens every time after that.

As Geoff said putting Far End Exact to the stopping position should work fine, I'm pretty sure I used it for those and similar moves in my 2012 tt

I think I may be understanding what causes this, perhaps:

If I bring a train out of the sidings and onto the West Carriage Road so that it can hold there, when I subsequently bring it into 2 it seems to get stuck:

If I leave the train in the sidings and don't queue them up this then seems to work ok.

That would suggest that 5N82 is following 5P07 into the platform, as 1277 is last-wheel replaced- i.e. it won't go back to red until the track circuit immediately approaching it has cleared, which won't happen if one train is following another. Simple solution is as you say, don't allow two trains on the West Carriage Road at the same time. As Brighton is now out of support I don't think the issue will be fixed (if indeed it's possible to fix it)

That makes total sense, thank you. Mystery solved!
