Presuming that this "test" is on your router's app ---

Is SimSig running, in server mode, when you run the test?

Does your ISP use CGNAT and if so do you pay extra for the ability to have a fixed IP address? Most fibre providers now use CGNAT which prevents port forwarding from working. Essentially you and your neighbours share a public IP address and then the ISP assigns you an internal IP on their network.

PPPoE is orthogonal to the question of whether your ISP lets you have a public IPv4 address or not.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Static IP on your internal network or external network?
