I'm not sure if this has been brought up before but I'll post it anyway, it's regarding trains travelling in the Up direction on the Down line at Bath Spa if the 'Up Main Blocked Between Bristol and Bath' scenario is used in modern mode.

It appears to be impossible to set a route from signal 175 to UM106A (from crossovers to Bath Spa platform 2), and also from signal 177 to 179 (Bath Spa platform 1 to Bathampton Junction).

Another problem is the slot at Bathampton Junction (with or without the above scenario). If for some reason wrong line working is required to Thingley Junction, clicking the slot seems to have no effect and it will just flash indefinitely. The route from signal 179 to MU101 cannot be set without this slot. The route from 402 to MD106 can however be set (Down trains running on the Up line) as that slot seems to work. 'BLOK' appears to have no effect on this sim, trains from Swindon will still use the down line regardless.

Firstly, I had no problem setting the route from 175 to UM106A and also no problem setting the route from 177 to 179 using this scenario however this was with no trains in the area. If you have a train in the area then your problem may have occurred due to this train preventing such a routing for some reason.

Regarding the slot at Bathampton junction - it is likely that this is realistic. By that, I mean that the next signal box along will see you are requesting the slot to send a train on the other line (an up train on the down line in this case) and they have to be given plenty of time to hold back any trains or route them via a different line. I can imagine that this is exactly like real life, as the consequences of two trains heading towards each other on the same line at a combined speed of 250mph doesn't even bare thinking about!!!

402 to MD406 works without a problem because it is all a pat of the same area therefore it is assumed all signallers (in multi-player) or the player (in single-player) knows about the situation before the route is set.

EDITED TO ADD;

I've left the sim running on full speed with the slot in question requested and it ran to beyond 6am (sim time) without the slot being given. Therefore I would wonder if this is perhaps a bug?

FURTHER EDITED TO ADD;

Created a train to test the slot with and again the slot never cleared. Definitely makes me think that this is a bug.

I had the problem Steve mentions when running wrong-line, but I know someone else got it to work, so I assume its the signal overlap or something - so I guess if the train gets to the signal and stops, then the route can be set.

Regarding going further wrong-line, I think its mentioned in the wiki that that slot can only be given by swindon panel. So bristol needs to be linked to swindid to use this feature.

If I remember correctly, Bathampton junction slot (and similar slots for bidirectional working with an external sim) only works when the sim is chained with the other sim concerned.

If the sim is not connected to the other sim, you are allowed to use the bidirectional line in the wrong way, without the need of requesting the slot. (or at least this is what I remember was told to be the intention).

Just had it today again. If you have a Train coming up the "Down Line" and change at Bath onto the "Up Line" from S175 to SUM106A there are no Problems if you'll send a Train from Bath on the "Down Line" towards Bristol.
I had two Trains running to Bath on DL but the Sim refused to set the Route for the second Train at Bath.
(It was not the Scenario "Up Line blocked", I had a Points Failure at North Somerset Jn)
