Bristol Sim | Bristol to Bath Works, April 2016 Timetable - Update
At least some of you will be aware that the railway line from Oldfield Park (inclusive) to North Somerset Junction (exclusive) is closed until the early hours of Monday 11th April. Since the schedules for this closure became clear I have been working on a timetable for the Bristol sim which is built around this closure.

I had hoped to have this timetable done in time for the end of the closure but my work schedule has been hectic and so this won't happen. I have so far got 527 trains for this timetable and have 28 more - the local stopping services between Cardiff Central and Taunton, both ways - to add which will give a total of 555 trains. Of those 555 trains there will be less freights than usual as several were cancelled and, with the exception of 2, none of those that ran went through Bristol Temple Meads. THere are also 75 ECS workings.

Once I have got the remaining trains written in I will set the motive power up prior to release. The info for the motive power will be mostly based around observations of 04th April that I made for certain trains and then traced the diagram back through the day.

I hope to be able to release this soon and will post here when I do.

Also, apologies to those who had awaited my Bathampton Junction TT for the Westbury sim. I was in the process of finalising this but accidentally deleted it along with several other files during a clearout of my Hard Disk. Unfortunately I have not the information to reconstitute this so it is lost.

HTIOI,
Dave

Just started on a fictional loco-hauled TT for NEScot. I hope to give it the same 'feel' as the 1980s TTs, with the addition of trip freights calling at each location.
Well, it's taken a while, but finally the timetable is written, simulation bugs are fixed and I've started testing this timetable. I've attached a preview in the form of one of my planning documents- note that you'll need to zoom to 200% for the first 3 pages and 400% for the fourth.

Hi - a "new" Kings Cross 1985 timetable appeared last time I did an update which surprised me a bit - is this the one you were working on a while ago Pascal?

Thanks

Mike

Thanks Pascal - strangely it doesn't seem to be in the list of timetables when I start a new sim but it's in the directory with all the rest - I've obviously done something wrong!

Well what I tend to do Mike is put the file in the King's Cross folder in SimSig timetables & also add the same file outside the folder in the timetables bit & that makes it appear as I've had similar issues to that myself. Point to note about this timetable. I'll be updating it once I've released the Peterborough 1985 timetable which I'm currently working on. I'll then update the King's Cross 1985 tt as there are discrepancies in the train lengths in the King's Cross 1985 tt.

No that isn't good advice at all!

The timetables for Kings Cross should be in

C:/Users/Public Documents/SimSig/Timetables/kingsx

That's where the timetable is but when I open the Sim (load a New Simulation) this new 1985 KX timetable is not in the file list. So if Pascal's advice is not good what is the solution please?

Firstly find a timetable that is showing up in the loader, at the bottom of the description of selected timetable box it'll have the file path of the file. Can you copy and paste that to here?

Secondly in your loader under folder options, can you upload a screenshot of what they look like?

Hi, path :(C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\\Timetables\kingsx\[Regulated] merged Kings Cross Summer 1985 x3.wtt)

Unable to do a screen shot of folder options but only the top option [CSIDL COMMON DOCUMENTS]\Simsig is checked

Thanks

In which case placing any timetables in that folder should work.

Agreed. But the new Kings X 1985 does not show up in the timetables list even though the file is in the directory along with all the others. Not to worry I'll have a fiddle around. You gotta love Windows.

Is the file name as displayed in the folder "[Regulated] merged Kings Cross Summer 1985 x3.wtt" as you posted earlier?

Hi Postal, in Windows Explorer or even in the Dos box the file shows up but in the loader "select your timetable" it doesn't. It's as though something is preventing the loader from recognising it as a timetable file.

Where did you get the timetable from? Via the updater, or from the downloads section?

I've just looked in the downloads and there is an identically named file which is attributed in the description to Peter Bennet from an original by Kurt.

I've just opened the file with notepad and the first few lines read as though it is the original timetable from Kurt Sicklemore - it looks to me as though something has got confused somewhere (apart from me). I appreciate your help both, but wonder if we are wasting time here? When the timetable is available in the downloads section I'll download it from there and we'll see what happens then - I don't want to waste your time!

Is the file name of the timetable you are trying to load named "Kings Cross 1985.WTT"

If it is then the name of the timetable is displayed on the timetable load/selection screen as "Kings Cross 1985 v5.33"

Hi Mark, thank you for that. In the directory there are a number of files. One is named Kings Cross 1985.wtt with a file date of 10/10/2017 and there is another named Kings cross 1985 v5.33.wtt which is dated 30/09/2006 and has its' partner .wtr file with it. The two .wtt files are identical sizes and I think that, despite the loader telling me it had downloaded a brand new Kings Cross 1985 file, it hasn't done so. Appreciate your help.
