Another update for where I am on timetables. Quite a lot of planned timetables were planned on my last update. Now with Crewe Released I have expanded my territory.. After talking to a member here I have decided on a plan although this will take a while to successfully complete. I’m aiming to do a complete chain of timetables from Wembley ML to Warrington (Via Rugby/Trent Valley/Stafford). With a missing section of WCML at Preston, I’ll continue forward and include one for Carlisle. As for Motherwell which I also been thinking of to add I have decided for now to leave out. This mainly due to the works for the Carstairs Remodelling which has changed the layout completely.
I appreciate others will have timetables planned/working on and I do respect them.

Completed ready for upload:

In the Works:
Carlisle - June 2023
Wigan Wallgate - June 2023
Warrington - June 2023
Crewe - June 2023
Staffordshire - June 2023
Rugby SCC - June 2023
Watford Jn - June 2023
Wembley ML - June 2023

On Hold:
Carlisle PSB - Saturday September 2023
Carlisle PSB - November 2023
Manchester Piccadilly - July 2023
Manchester North - July 2023
Staffordshire - Saturday July 2023
Staffordshire - November 2023
Warrington PSB - July 2023
Warrington PSB - November 2023

Planned:

Testing Phase:
Warrington PSB - Saturday June 2023
Wigan Wallgate - Saturday June 2023

Awaiting Testing Phase:
Can't wait for the WCML timetables. Going to be amazing chaining it all together!

Has anyone even thought of doing a new timetable for North Kent and London Bridge Modern day era?

North Kent has not even got a single new timetable and all the others dont really need new ones as far as im concerned lol.

Problem is, London Bridge has a completely new layout, a modern timetable on old LB would be completely unworkable.

Hi Jason,

I don't know about North Kent but certainly for London Bridge it is impossible to do a modern day tt, because of the huge changes that occurred at the station with the Thameslink project where more through platforms were created at the expense of terminus platforms along with a heap load of track / point / junction work to accommodate it all.

(hadn't noticed G-dub's post above when i posted)

Crewe - April 2023 - based on the workings for Tuesday 18th. Turned out to be quite the day for varied freight workings.

All schedules are in, have started allocating next workings & I have just ripped all the freight consists required for that day. Will be ready in due course.

When in doubt - Contingency plan 2A. Someone didn't buy the milk - 2A. Someone sneezed at Swansea - 2A. A driver complains the cab is too cold - 2A. Unable to operate a HEx service 4 vice 8 - 2A. Points failure at Ipswich - 2A. Landslip at Pitlochry - 2A

Very true, although there are simulations out there with multiple eras such as West Hampstead, Three Bridges and Doncaster South etc, the risk is if a new era is added even if the information was there and it was possible than the risk remains that the change could break existing timetables.

Even if a Three Bridges ROC but with the London Bridge panels was available, apart from London Bridge itself and the route to Blackfriars I don't think much changed?

Which leaves either the 2009 or 2012 timetables to use on the existing London Bridge sims

I don't think this has been an issue up until recently, but for the record, we are unlikely to approve any timetables dated on our (as of writing) three "groundhog days". This is for several reasons:
- The timetable must be compatible with surrounding sims
- - Complex decisions have to be consistent across sims
- - Custom(ised) UIDs must work across sims
- We cannot ensure the quality of such a TT if we have no control over it, which reduces the value of TTs that we do release officially
- We don't want to have imitations of official releases, even if not intended to appear official
- We may have plans to release any "missing" groundhog day timetables in the future.

The relevant dates:
2009-10-15
2015-04-08
2019-01-09

Thanks

May 2023 Timetables (In order of work)
Exeter - Planned
Just bear in mind that any post December 2021 timetable for Exeter will run into issues with the Okehampton trains as the line speed in the sim has not been updated in line with the full reopening of the line. The trains will take a good while longer to traverse the section in the sim than what is timetabled today.

Yeah I'm aware, I haven't looked at the planned timings for May there yet, but will make a decision to get around it when I reach that timetable.

In other news I have completed timetabling the timetable for the Nuneham Blockade, providing a bit of a different experience of Oxford. If anyone would like to help test let me know!

I wrote and eventually abandoned a winter 2021 timetable when the service was only 2 hourly and everything ran around 10-15 minutes late each way on the Okehampton section. It was only slightly manageable because of the long turnaround times at Okehampton. Now that the service is hourly with 10 minute turnarounds at Okehampton and, more importantly, the two trains cross at Crediton, I suspect you’ll find the Cowley Bridge - - Crediton single line to be unworkable.

I was looking at doing a Exeter Summer 2023 TT. I ran a test train with a Class 150. I found that if you TT an Okehampton train to Yeoford (and send onto the Okehampton line) and give it +/- 8 minutes from Crediton it seems to work satisfactorily. That way you can start the Okehampton from Yeoford and it will pick up the timings from Crediton and not cause any delay when joining the ML at Cowley Bridge Junction.

A little update from myself. The WCML chain timetables are progressing quite well. I’m now up to Watford Jn with only Wembley ML left to do. Meanwhile I have also created 3 new timetables for the Crewe Simulation, based after the timetable change on random weekday, random Saturday & Sunday.

Crewe PSB Weekday 2023 - Based on a Thursday during July.
Crewe PSB Saturday 2023 - Based on a random Saturday in August.
Crewe PSB Sunday 2023 - Based on a random Sunday in September.

A update from myself into where I an. The WCML Chain is nearly complete with work starting now on Wembley ML. Freight services will be added in once all the ECS/Passenger workings are complete. Freight will be from a selected date during June for what ran.

Also more new timetables for Crewe PSB are in the works
Crewe PSB Pre-Covid 2020 - Based on a Wednesday during February.
Crewe PSB UK Lockdown One 2020 - Based on a random weekday during April with the First UK Lockdown due to Covid-19 with essential travel in force.
Crewe PSB UK Lockdown Two 2020 - Based on a random weekday during November under the Second UK Lockdown due to Covid-19.

Oxford Nuneham Blockade: Released

May 2023:
Westbury - Done, awaiting unit assignments
Swansea - Done, awaiting unit assignments
Sailsbury - Done, awaiting unit assignments

(All the above are waiting for the diagrams from RTT once the May timetable starts, and will be completed and released in the above order)

Well, I had a monumental Laptop failure a while back, and lost the lot. Which was a shame, as I had completed 99% of it and was working through the engineering moves.

I also lost my Sheffield TT, my Bristol TT, and a couple of others I had begun "ground work" on.

Very frustrating indeed. I learnt from it though, and back everything up to my USB stick now :cheer:

Regarding up and coming TTs, I have a couple of projects lined up for the London meet sims, keep the old mince pies peeled :P
Commiserations. I know the irritation of the loss of things from one's PC. In terms of SimSig TTs the ones I start are all backed up to my cloud drive as well as being saved on my PC. I would have looked forward to that TT for Bristol, which is my home sim. And that makes me wonder what the progress is on Bristol sim.

I suspect given the age of the post you are quoting, the timetable was probably for the old Bristol sim…

I'll be taking some time away creating new timetables for the community. This is due to myself having an operation at the end of this month and will require a few weeks of recovery.

Everything on WCML Chain is complete passenger wise. I have all the details to add all the freight in, only Crewe & Staffordshire is done on that matter. I have new timetables been tested for Carlisle and Manchester Piccadilly I'll get them out as soon as I can.

As for the stack of completed Crewe timetables these will out after the next Sim Update for it to allow Crew Changes at NH10/12.
