Has anyone even thought of doing a new timetable for North Kent and London Bridge Modern day era?

North Kent has not even got a single new timetable and all the others dont really need new ones as far as im concerned lol.
I am currently working on a North Kent May 2023 timetable, got about 200 or so trains in currently so early days and my first TT, but going well!

I echo what others have said about London Bridge though, it's unworkable due to the new modern layout accommodating a lot more trains now, it would not work on the old layout, would be a bit of a logistical nightmare. That being said, I am creating it using correct UID's and stuff, so if there was ever a new London Bridge available, a TT could be written to be chainable :)

Kieran.

Another update on my 08/05/2022 timetable for Three Bridges. Still managed to find a couple of missing trains but I have been able to add these along with the correct traction so I now have 1163 trains.

I had 497 warnings for TT and UID errors but have recently had time to iron out a good number of them over the last week or two so, after having gone through the errors - mostly non-allocation of rolling stock, non-matching workings and duplicate service UIDs - on the Selhurst trains and the services through West Croydon I am now down to 267 warnings. Most of the remaining errors are on the Hawards Heath terminators. I am getting there and looking forward to testing it.

Currently working on a Brighton Timetable for 1973/74. Considering the era being covered it seems to be working out ok so far with not much infrastructure missing that artistic license has had to be used for and of course a great variety of traction types

I'm beginning to slowly (very slowly) update all of my 2012 series of Southern tt's. It will be a long process so no time frames, but in the meantime if anyone sims / hosts any of them and notices any abnormalities or errors, drop me a PM of the issue and I'll make sure it gets sorted out in the rewrite

Cheers

I'm very slowly starting to work on a semi fictional timetable for West Anglia, based the Monday WTT. I'm also adding any Q paths, along with RHTT, Test Train and a rail tour that ran over the weekend for some variety.

Will be looking for testers at some stage, so if anyone is interested please let me know.

A 1975 timetable for Stourbridge Jn sim will appear in a few weeks.
Need to make sure it is OK on the released sim.

The era called '2007 with added locations' has allowed significantly older timetables with very little compromise.

A little update where things stand. After tough Month I'm slowly getting back on with the timetables. The WCML Chain is coming along in various parts. I've just completed the LNER diversions via Carlisle timetable which is in testing along with Crewe from July. I have two timetables for Manchester Piccadilly featuring the weekend. The one on Saturday is the day before timetable change over and the other is more relaxed Sunday timetable ideal for those who want to have a steady pace of trains. I also have two timetables planned for Staffordshire one of which is for the new timetable and I'm just awaiting final details and WTTs before starting them off.

Completed ready for upload:

In the Works:
Manchester North - December 2023
Staffordshire - June 2023
Rugby SCC - June 2023
Watford Jn - June 2023
Wembley ML - June 2023

On Hold:

Planned:
Staffordshire - Weekday January 2024
Staffordshire - Saturday December 2023

Testing Phase:
Carlisle PSB - Saturday September 2023
Crewe - July 2023

Awaiting Testing Phase:
Manchester Piccadilly - Saturday December 2023
Manchester Piccadilly - Sunday November 2023

Eventually there will be. Stockport and Manchester South will have new timetables before chained ones come.

I have a Cornwall 2004 timetable that has just finished the 2nd play test through, but will need a couple more to iron out the minor bugs that remain. I sat down 3 hours ago to start the freight aspect, but got distracted by a rabbit hole!

I hope to release a full WTT and pax only version with two seeding groups on top of midnight.

This TT should be out and tested fully for the new year, but will need to co-ordinate with a friend

The train now standing on platform 2, should be on the rails

Next in line from me will be Wolverhampton 1975 (TUE-FRI), as it uses the same WTT's.
Fairly well advanced, having been tested for/with the newly updated sim.

I am likely to then do a SAT version separately.

Having spent the last 32 years signalling trains for real in the London Bridge area, both NX & WestCad, there is no way a 2023 timetable would work on the old layout. There was on average 1600+ trains a day at London Bridge Station prior to the new layout. It now peaks around 2100+ trains a day. The pinch points that prevent the 2023 WTT working on the old layout are Met Junction and the Tatenham Crossovers (Spa Road Junction area) with their conflicting moves. Thameslink trains now have a complete run through the middle and are virtually in auto working through London Bridge, just half hourly junction work at Southwark Park for the Greenwich line Thamelinks. For old times sake I would like to attempt to run a 2023 WTT on the old layout just for fun.

I compiled a 1982 TT for the Mini London Bridge that works quite well, which is uploaded. But I even had issues with that. Some of the early timetables of the fifties and sixties are appealing for their mixture of workings, but the Simsig layout is of the 1974 NX panel box and not the 1928 311 miniature K Lever frame Box. Now that would be something for Simsig to reproduce, a working layout of the 1928 box.

Well yes, prior to 1970s, Borough Market was a very busy box. That alone would make a very nice Simsig. But its complexity changed with the 1974 layout, though still very busy peak times no Charing Cross trains clashing with Cannon Street trains. Even when the layout was changed at Borough Market in the early 1990s, it still remained busy, and is to a large extent today during peak times, as it is still the same 1990s layout today.

As a Kidderminster resident who was a teenager in the 1970s, and on that footbridge over the main lines and yard a fair bit, will be interesting to get stuck into your recent Stourbridge 1975 TT when I can find the time. Will post any comments or issues in the separate thread you have set up. Incidentally in your list of links to photographs on the Stourbridge 1975 PDF the first Kidderminster one is from my Flickr site (which I have sadly neglected and need to get back into) and is by my late father. Many thanks for that !

I know it’s too late now for Stourbridge but I have the relevant Trip Notices for May 1974 and October 1976, which are a bit closer to ’75. Maybe too late for this Wolverhampton TT as well but if they are of any use to you I can scan them and send over. I’ve also got a document with Conditional B services for October ’76, which as you probably know are services not in the main WTT but which have paths that can be used for semi-regular services.

Afternoon all,

I am working on a Doncaster Station November 2023 timetable, based on the 17th November 2023.

The LNER, TPE, Lumo, XC and also EMR services are completed. So got Northern and Freight to do.

Freight is gonna be a task in itself haha,

I'll update when it's in testing

I currently have a Doncaster Summer 1981 Weekdays timetable 4/5s of the way complete, with the last 1/5 being the fine details and finessing. This has been in development for some time now and I shall be commencing testing on this shortly. It should prove something of a different challenge to the 2009/15/19 timetables.

My Saltley 1992 timetable remains written with testing incomplete and will now sit on the back burner until Doncaster is completed.

For anyone interested as to how I am doing with my Three Bridges ASC timetable based on 08th May 2022 the latest updates are as follows at the time of writing this post.

- - - - - - -

1. Recently I discovered a number of trains missing from the list which made calls at Balcombe station. The addition of these, along with a couple of missing ECS trains has seen an increase in the number of movements during the timetable from 1163 trains to 1179 trains (220x ECS, 959x Passenger).

2. A bit of work on trains at West Croydon this afternoon (09th December) has cut the number of errors from 201 to 104. This arose from checking of traction settings for some of the trains (and changes where needed) and addition of next workings.

3. I ended up with a number of duplicate train headcodes, sometimes from different operators. Both Southern and Thameslink have trains working as 5A89 - 0508 Lovers Walk - Brighton (Southern) and 0701 Three Bridges USN - Three Bridges (Thameslink) to which I add certain trains between Sutton and London Victoria (duplicates of 2B10, 2B13-2B22 and 2B24 - 2B56 albeit at different times of day). The same applies to Thameslink on trains 9T22 & 9T26-9T31. The error with the headcodes is not mine - it is how things ran on the day!

I have revised the UIDs for all the Thameslink passenger workings into a different format from other trains in the timetable and plan to do likewise with the duplicate Southern passenger workings to make the right timetables come up. A thought which occurs to me though: would that work only with trains terminating in sim (which the Southern ones in question don't do) or will it work also work on trains entering from Sutton? Time will tell but if it worked then this would be instead of having 4-digit headcodes in the trainlist such as 2B361 & 2B362. There are also duplicate headcodes at Selhurst where trains entering on the Slow line and terminating at Selhurst (due to the closure of the Up & Dn Victoria Slow from Selhurst Jcn to East Croydon for engineering works) rather than continuing to West Croydon work ECS into the depot in order to reverse.

- - - - - - -

The only remaining errors now are on Thameslink workings but those shouldn't take twoo much work to resolve: not a case of errors in the traction settings so I hope this TT work will be completed before too long.

HTIOI,
Dave
