Easily reproducible; use the 2019 TT with a 14:00 seed. Disable the BTN3 sub-area and let 1A24 draw up to the buffers. At about 14:04 the BTN3 sub-areas enables itself without intervention.

I've had a look at the data file and there it is explicitly coded to do that in very specific circumstances. Why I don't know but it's certainly intentional. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

It's there to allow Brighton (P3) to run automatically even if a 12-car comes in to P3 and does not release the route (since it never fully passes the intermediate signal). The logic will pull the intermediate signal which disables the subarea, hence the automatic re-enabling. Part of this is mentioned in the manual.

Maybe the re-enabling could be bypassed if the sub-area is collared?

Could the logic check the state of the ARS button immediately before cancelling the route, save it and then, once the route has been cancelled, restore ARS only if it was actually enabled beforehand? Or are there some limitations to Simsig which would make that impractical to implement?
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Log in to reply |

I'll add a note to the Mantis entry. Log in to reply |
