In the attached save which was chained with Aston, signal NS247 has failed and was unlit. So I authorised 2N14 to pass the signal and now it has promptly stopped at SY56 and will not move even if I try to authorise it pass a signal. This means the whole chain has ground to a halt

I'm unable to reproduce this on an independent test, either by authorising him past 247, or by asking him to examine the line.

A chain was mentioned, and that pair of signals straddles the boundary. Probably something happened during the handover. Easy enough to re-create the train on the Saltley side and delete it from the New Street side.

Yes, the chain was with Aston, not Satley. That's the issue.

As trainfan says it was an Aston chain. You've given me an idea though as to whether deleting it and seeing if the following grain does the same thing.
