I’ve just had a crossing failure at Thorne. Should I hold 2P21 at the red signal and activate that ‘E’ button just prior to Thorne No.2 AHB on the Down line until such time that the failure is fixed? Or should I carry on as if nothing has happened? Not sure :/ ... Update: I just carried on as though everything would be Ok. Hope that I didn't mow anybody down when passing through. The failure alarm is because the crossing has been down an abnormally long amount of time.

As forest pines says, the barriers have been down longer than deemed acceptable and there is a risk of motorists getting frustrated or confused and jumping the barriers. In SimSig terms, drivers should be stopped and cautioned to approach the crossing at caution, check its safe and sound the horn before crossing, or in other words, stop them at the protecting signal and then let then proceed after calling to simulate having that conversation with the driver. That's become obvious to me now that you have explained it. Thanks. Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |
