Which sim should I go for next? 01/10/2022 at 13:02 #148214

Hi hi folks,

As some of you may know, I'm a long-time user of SimSig.

I usually like more modern stuff, but I've been thoroughly enjoying playing some older timetables lately including the crazy 1980s TT by Pascal for Carlisle which is stressful but in a fun way.

Now I've finally finished a huge project at work since January and I have some time in my life back, I'm thinking it's time to get another sim - or try another timetable at least...

Warrington looks potentially interesting as I've read stuff goes in all directions, while Dartford is of course a carry-on from the fun of London Bridge and an area I know quite well.

Or may it be worth simply waiting for the Crewe / Donny station sims to be released - as well as whatever the others are that are in development as Geoff mentioned this morning?

What do folks recommend?

Ta,
Joe

Hi Joe,

West Yorks is quite a nice area with a mix of freight and pax, or LTS if you want something a bit more modern where you can strategize and regulate round failures.

I've also enjoyed Donny North, because it's a nice size.

Thanks
Jamie

I think Warrington would be ideal, its enough for a single player to manage especially as it doesnt have ARS and has good variety of timetables with 2 from the 70's & 90's. Other than that Feltham although it looks small is really busy for a single player (one of my favourites).

Westbury with the recent 1964 timetable is good, run it on standard setting though (TORR is switched off in this mode).

You won't be disappointed, especially if you go for the 1977 or 1996 TT's.

Hi! I am considering to buy Warrington too, how did you find it eventually? Is it manageable by a single player?

Cheers

Warrington is easily manageable by a single player.
