Just got a request for use of Langholme Crossing & noted there is no provision for returning signals to danger on the up to prevent a train passing over the crossing while it is in use. I note the same would occur at Freemans Lane Xing on the Reford Line Log in to reply |

SimSig is generally considered to be as accurate to 'the real thing' as possible so I'd expect it is like this in real life. As far as I can tell the only risk is from Up Trains but there should be options on the calls to ask the crossing user to wait 5 minute or cross after next train if there is one approaching, but then again sometimes you'll have a train approaching but it could still be a while away before it gets to the crossing so you may still be able to allow them to cross safely. For both crossings there is a controlled signal, one with auto facility (an auto button), two signals away so protection from Down Trains shouldn't be a problem - again if needed the crossing users should be able to be asked to wait 5 minutes or cross after next train. May not be an ideal response but at least it is a response.
