I see that Paignton South Level Crossing has been deleted. Was this intentional or a possible bug? Tugz "Signalman Exeter" Log in to reply |

Ahhhhhhhh, yes. Its a phone operated crossing thats controlled by the Puddletown and District (Paignton and Dartmouth to the non locals) but also is operated by a phone at the end of Platform 1 for Railtours and Excursions.

just noticed the obvious...sim is written in the updated code so features F8 and F11 menus...certainly improves the ability to implement and remove SLW around dawlish. any chance for the updated sims that a list of updates could be provided? some will be obvious but i imagine some are less obvious "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |

Thanks for the updated version Peter. I like the way we know phone through the SDR P&DSR and the WSR when sending them trains. And no Paignton South also helps with Alan and Is TT. Here's to a full west Country chain game. sim says phone calls go to paington (DVR). i thought victoria crossing was the only box on the DVR? or is there a crossing keeper at paington?

Its a weird system. For trains Leaving Paignton Queens Park (P&DSR station), the level crossing is lowered manually , possibly by Britannia Crossing. However, trains coming into Paignton QP stop just before the LC and press a buzzer, which lowers the Crossing automatically. I think that there is a phone link from Paignton PSB to Britannia Crossing regarding trains coming onto the P&DSR (e.g Railtours). This is simulated by having to phone the DVR to request acceptance onto the line. Correct if Im wrong. Tugz "Signalman Exeter" Log in to reply |

Just one brief thought on this new version Exeter sim. The inability to set routes with the Paignton North barriers up is slightly odd, when you consider they set the route with barriers up IRL. Well, change the points anyway. Not sure if the two are the same. Dave Last edited: 22/08/2011 at 19:12 by DaveHarries Log in to reply |

It's the same with any crossing without auto raise you have to lower the barriers first before setting a route

unless im going crazy exeter has a number of automatic signals that arent meant to be there. ive noticed: E190: at the entrance to down torbay line E5: on the up main just past totnes E191: up main just past taunton these three signals do not cancel behind a train and will then clear themselves again after the train has passed. ive seen this on a sim somewhere before but im not sure if its intentional or not? This was brought up when Exeter first became a scrolly. I believe the explanation was that they were controlled signals without TORR and did not have one off replacement like other home signals.
