Just about to set off for Newcastle....via Hotel Wilson in Sale. Meet simulation looks good, you'll be busy folks!
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |

Can I ask for serious consideration be given to putting a list of those people who have registered online somewhere - I registered and payed for the meet on 4 June, but it says I've not registered, and the shop has no history of my payment (depsite having confirmation e-mails for both and a bank statement saying the money has gone from my bank account). I look back at this thread, it it implies that the list from the old site is known about, but to me, it's very confusing, as previous posts imply that the old list will be updated, which, as of 48 hours before the meet, it hasn't been. I don't think I'm the only one, not in the inner circle, who are finding this very confusing. The meet is a difficult enough event for me mentally and emotionally as it is - I really could do without any more confusion/hassle! I expect to have a full list tomorrow (by which time a lot of people will have started travelling no doubt) so I am afraid that everything is going to have to be taken on trust. If the admin does fall apart, rest assured that I will be at the venue at 11:30 when the doors open (provided the railway between Alnmouth and Newcastle hasn't fallen over) and will collect from those who say they haven't paid and note those who say they have. Any reckoning can take place after the meet. The prime thing is to get stuck into the beta version of a challenging new sim which I can guarantee will keep people on the hop throughout the meet. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

All the information is there; it is simply in another database and I have not had the time to transfer it over.

Will the new beta sim be published for those who can't attend to the meet (because of geographical issues, eg. I live in Hungary and I have no chance to travel to the UK for a SimSig meet in the next couple of years - some years ago I had the flight tickets in my hand for an autumn meet, but I had to cancel my travel and didn't check in at BUD airport).

As it's a Beta it maybe that they want to see how it goes first and it maybe only loaded to the machines to be used. Time will tell. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! You lucky people! Unfortunately due to recuperation from major heart surgery won't be there but we hope, nay insist, that we get updates on the forum on how the day went and in particularly the new sim.

Live from Newcastle! Just under 30 people are currently in attendance for the premiere of Tom's new Carlisle sim. There are 3 sessions of the sim running. 1 server plus 3 clients on each one. Thanks to Postal for organising the meet which has run very smoothly. So far Chris Law has failed in his bid to empty a barrel or two! But this is still work in progress. Post has attachments. Many thanks to all who attended and organised and all involved with helping me along the way. The meet was running multiple instances of the Carlisle 1979 wtt, starting at different times. There are a few bugs to knock out of the way and then the sim should be available to download. An overview screenshot is attatched. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Excellent Work Postal. Group photo, to be uploaded later. Nice Venue and a good selection of beers Newcastle but we didn't see Dire Straits, Lindisfarne, Jimmy Nail, or the likely lads which was a tad dissappointing. We did see quite a few characters from Viz. Thankfully we didn't see Ant and Dec. Highlights Howard spotting a group of schoolgirls he thought he knew from Byker Grove !!!!!!! Matt only shouting once Once again Well done John for the organising Tom brilliant Sim well worth the wait give me a call when you are up in Derby Jinx for a lot of behind the scenes activity Log in to reply The following users said thank you: postal, Josie |

I think the worrying bit was breakfast before hand, during which Howard failed to eat all of his (I did try to persuade someone to take a photo), and that during Howard's attempts, Chris Law had already had 2 pints of beer (when he asked soeone to get him "another pint" of "you choose" - I did suggest mineral water, but that was rejected! For anyone concerned - I understand Howard was back to normal with a double breakfast this morning! God bless, Daniel Wilson Log in to reply The following user said thank you: GeoffM |
