Correct, there are no "station" stops between Waterloo and Bank.

Peter.
Ah, I understand this question now. Can I add the 42nd Street Shuttle?
Correct Andy,

11. What is the furthest destination that has been signed on London Underground
" said:
11. When the Undeground was first built it (sub-surface) was connected to the Main rail network so I guess there could have been trains to virtually anywhere. I have seen references to Paddington to Brighton via Farringdon trains.

Also if that's not what you had in mind I think the Met ran out further towards Aylesbury at one time.

Peter
Peter,

Nice try. This place is definately further than Aylesbury. The sign was put up this century.

Peter.
Heathrow Terminal 1 for New Zealand?

And Oval but you've discounted non-NR stations.

Peter
But is "Vauxhall for the Oval" official or not?
Its only listed as "Vauxhall" on the nationalrail web site. There are some very creative "for.."s on the railway network.

Thats not the one I had in mind. Was this an offical Tfl sign or an advert?

10. If you see a train with the designation shown as “BEHA”, where is it going to and where has it come from?
It is going to Bondy, from Aulnay? (In Paris)

or it might be La Defense on RER A
Is this correct? :S
Guidomcc,

Its not the one I was thinking off, but I know what you mean with the four letter train displays. I'm trying to find an official list to see if you are correct or not.

Peter
There is a poster on every Picc line train telling you which terminal you want for which destination, or is it airline.

21. Which two stations in the UK that share a place name are furthest apart?

" said:
21: If you mean identical names then I'd say Charing Cross (London and Glasgow) but otherwise possibly Barry (Glamorgan and Angus).

Peter
Peter, I'm after identical place names, not "identical names". I thought you had beaten me with Barry (Barry Island - Barry Links), but that is only 353 miles! Keep trying.

Peter.
As you said UK I've looked at NIRailways but the best I can come up with is University Halt (Coleraine) and University (Birmingham), but that's less than 353 miles.

Peter

Peter
Sorry, but I think that is customer information, not a sign. The sign I'm talking about had ~ 8 inch (20cm) high lettering.

12. Which of these pairs of stations is the furthest apart?

" said:
12: c? But I don't fully understand the question
c. Bowling – Bat & Ball and Alexandra Palace – Alexandra Parade

Bowling and Alexandra Parade are in the Glasgow Area, whereas Bat&Ball is South of London (possibly Kent) and Alexandra Palace in North London.

Not sure I know where all of the others listed actually are.

Peter
This question is meant as a journey of discovery. Is "Bowling" to "Bat & Ball" further than "Alexandra Palace" to "Alexandra Parade" - You can use google earth to check the distances.

Peter.

Boston (Manor)?
Is Boston a city or just a town?
The english Boston is just a town.
