I would not rely too much on the signal colours - even on Network Rails own CCF system they tend to update a lot slower than the train describers step.

Now that will be really handy now to see exactly what the perpetual problem is with my train - except I can't get it to work on my wife's mobile and I don't have that type of phone (yet) but fellow commuters do. The maps would be even handier if each header code on the map was active and labelled a description of destination etc with a right click on the mouse.

The WON will give details of the times, the blocking points (extremities) and the type of work (patrolling for example). There was a thread with lots of variations of things you may see. Off the top of my head here are a few:- -T3- Engineers Possession Rule Book T3 -T4- Engineers Possession of Siding Rule Book T4 BTET - Blocked to Electric Traction NOGO - FFS don't send a train this way!! 3CAR - There's already a 3 car set in this 6 car platform CLSD - Closed (Line or perhaps fringe signal box) There are many 4 letter words that can be put in the TD berths, however as link shows you have to be much more careful what you put these days

Ive seen the Peterborogh signaller use two adjacent berths on the Spalding line during the weekend when the line is shut - GONE HOME

I was on leave today so watched my normal train make almost perfect progress (well it lost a minute dwelling at Arlesey) from home. It was interesting to see how the flow worked. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

One last funny TD berth memory. I just remembered the wonderful Train Description that my colleagues and I used when I was working at Stratford (North London Line). It was during the big closure for track and platform rebuilding work between Camden and Stratford that started in February 2010. Some TD's that I use when I'm on one of the panels at Rugby SCC NOGD - No guard NODR - No driver NOCR - No crew NOGO - previously mentioned don't send a train that way! BLOK - Line blocked -LB- - Line blockage (the old T12/T2) -T3- - T3 possession AMBL - Ambulance attention to train (or NENA) KNKR - Knacker, broken train GLUG - Flooding SOWC - Showing Occupied When Clear Don't think I've used many more than that
