Looks like an interesting timetable, however I didn't think the 90s were in service until autumn 1988.

With regards to the Cl.90s running, according to the Loco Hauled Travel 1988 edition produced by Metro there were Cl.90s diagrammed to work the trains in the timetable as shown. Having said that in the 1989 Platform 5 combined volume only the first 12 were allocated to Willesden depot(WN) although from 90013 - 90029 they were allocated to traffic pools. On another note I've played up to 0630am & there have been a couple of platform alterations to make to a couple of services. I would assume most people would be able to re-allocate the platform in their own version of the timetable & then re-save it. Although I have a supplement to the Birmingham New Street station working book for the same period I don't have one for Coventry, so the platforms allocated to the trains are taken from the Coventry station working book. That said I will now start writing the summer 1988 Wolverhampton rimetable which should take me about 4 weeks or so to complete. Log in to reply |

Hi 58050, i've used your timetable for a little time and i found two some little details which may be corrected (if you are interested?): 2G41 is routed in Coventry via platform 3 (06:12 - 06:13) at the same time is 5S53 (05:46 - 06:57) at platform 3. Is the 5S53 to shunt somewhere else after arrival or have the 2G41 routed via another platform? The 3A50 and the 3B03 have to be at the same time in Coventry, coming from Birmingham, so the 3B03 all the time is delayed (not good for the Performance ;-) )... Otherwise i'm happy, that somebody makes the "old" timetables and i'm very excited for the other ones around Birmingham... Thanks for this work. Regards from Germany, Alexander Log in to reply |

Also of note, your early morning trains are headcoded by the day the enter the area, not the day they departed from the origin (IE 4M52MO is actually a Sunday train from Tilbury [and would presumably be 4M42Su on Fenchurch Street etc]), this is going to make chaining timetables a bit more complex.

I'm actually running through the timetable myself & making a few edits as I go along, mainly platform alterations. I don't have any of the amendments for the Coventry station working book unlike the New Street station working book. Ben regarding the days of the week, with all of the timetables I've written I go by the day the train enters the sim as opposed to the day it departs from the origin location. The re-worked Carlisle 1979-1980 tt is done like this & so is the Motherwell 1979-1980 timetable I've been developing also. That said I will alter the entry day if necessary. This Coventry timetable isn't the final version as I thought the sooner it was released it then gives people the option to play a historical timetable. I started yesterday writing the Wolverhampton summer 1988 timetable, but have found a major issue which will mean suspending this timetable until that issue is resolved. I understand from someone else that there is an issue with New Street concerning a certain route(can't remember exactly remember what it is) but the route validates in the modern era, but not in the 1980s era. Whether that has been reported on MANTIS I don't know as I was told on the phone yesterday about it. So I may well be forced to start writing the Stafford summer 1988 timetable instead. My original plan was to do Coventry first, followed by Wolverhampton, then New Street, then Stafford & finally Aston. However it looks like which sim has the least number of issues for the 1980s era will be the next timetable to write so the other issues can be resolved in time. The unit that enters Rugby Trent Valley Jn & is shown to arrive in P3 whilst 5S53/1S53 is sat there I've altered to P4. I'll look at 3B03 & 3A50, but will double check the days of the week that these run, maybe I've omitted a rule. I'll get back to you on this shortly Alex, thanks to all those raising issues.

Got as far as 0548 in this enjoyable TT before bed beckoned. Bemused at description of 3A67 - the 0438 parcels from Wolverhampton. Destination shows Wukkesden New ECS. Hmm. Guess Wukkesden is a typo for Willesden? Worked there as a TOPS clerk in the era this TT is set in, and remember New E sidings - so perhaps not New ECS either... Look forward to progressing on this timetable tomorrow. Many thanks. Log in to reply |

Well spotted typo there. The train descriptions are copied exactly as the descriptions in the WTT. Never went to that particular location, but used to go to Willesden brent Sdgs & Stonebridge park when I was on the footplate at St. Pancras. I suspect it was probably the Inter City depot at Willesden. So many different sets of sdgs at that location.
