 This photo shows 08833 in Liverpool Street Station livery with another Cl.08 & Cl.47 outside the front of Stratford Major Depot on 270388.  31418 sits on some tracks between Stratford TMD B&C shed & Stratford Major Depot. This was where locos & multiple units awaiting acceptance into the Major Depot for Works attention. Taken on 270388.  47411 'The Geordie' inside Stratford TMD B&C shed on 270388.  47438 shows collision damage, now awaiting movement into Stratford Major Depot on 270388.  47582 'County of Norfolk in Network South East livery at Stratford TMD on 270388.  A photo showing the 'B' end of Stratford TMDs B&C shed on 270388.  This photo shows 3 tracks next to Stratford TMDs B&C shed. These lines were named from left to right No.1 steam, No.2 steam & No.3 steam. No doubt dating back to the steam era. When the loco controller at Liverpool street regional Control requested the position of traction units on the depot the shed foreman would cal out the road such as No.1 steam or No.2 steam & then read off the locos in order so the loco controller would be able to allocate them to there next turns of duty. Hurd that this loco was up for sale recently. Here's a PIC of 03179 in more happier times at the Nene valley railway diesel gala.

 During a weeks haulage bashing during the summer of 1988 this photo was taken on a Sunday at Crewe showing our diverted train from Crewe to Liverpool Lime Street prior to departing Crewe. Loco is 47644 'The Permanent Way Institute'  This photo was taken whilst turning the train around the triangle at Chester. The train departed the station & was routed from Chester West Jn to Chester North Jn & then set back from Chester North Jn to Chester South Jn(on the Up Slow)then we headed back through Chester station & headed past Chester East Jn again this time taking the line towards Frodsham Jn.  This photo was taken during October 1987 & shows Derby Etches Park pilot dragging 3C15 1755 SX Etches Park Sdgs - London St. Pancras Empty NPCCS.  Ex BR Cl.24 24061 now re-numbered as 97201, part of Derby RTC's Departmental fleet. Loco was named 'Experiment' for a while. The loco was withdrawn from traffic from Crewe Diesel in August 1975 & transferred to the Departmental fleet based at Derby RTC & was numbered ADB968007. The loco was used to power the Tribology Test Train which investigated the science of wheel/railinterface & adhesion. The loco was withdrawn in January 1988 when Cl.46 97403 'Ixion' (formerly 46035) replaced it. This photo was taken in October 1987. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

 This photo shows 56094 heading past pavenham on the Down Goods between bedford & Sharnbrrok Junction(West Hampstead sim) working the only booked northbound loaded MGR train 7M03 0925 SX Betteshangar Colliery Sdgs - Toton Down Sdgs Low Level in May, 1988. This train was running out of course as it is booked past Sharnbrook Junction at 01.11am. All the other loaded MGR trains that ran on this section of line usually were heading towards the London area with the empties returning north. Post has attachments. Log in to view them.  58016 heads north past Aynho Jn with an empty MGR service on 04/05/88.  Cl.31/1 working 6M93 1620 SX COY Morris Cowley - Bescot past Aynho Jn signalbox on 04/05/88.  56071 working another empty MGR train from Didcot Power station back north towards Banbury on 04/05/88.  This photo shows a 4 car Cl.115 DMU coming off the flyover on a service from Marylebone - Banbury past the back of Aynho Jn signalbox on 04/05/88. We had to ask a farmers permission to go over his land to get access to a bridge where these photos were taken as there was no access from the road to this position. Post has attachments.  This photo was taken from Bedford traincrew signing on point messroom & shows 31296 'Amlwch freighter' in multiple with another classmate working 6A61 morning binliner from Cricklewood RTS - Forders Sdgs in 1988. Pairs of Cl.31s were used fairly regularly on this service & the evening service at this time. The train is just departing from platform 1 at Bedford. The concrete sleepers laying in front of the locos was for the laying of the track into what is today the bay platform. Post has attachments. Log in to view them.
