Well, the new website is up. We hope you like the general look. There are likely to be a few glitches here and there but we're working on those. Enjoy!

Looks good

Wasnt happy having to change my password - hate having to think of a new password.

When I changed my password and clicked Log in it went to the same screen again and asked me to do it again. I went through the stage twice beforeI could get in

I have noticed a few issues

1. The times on the website are wrong. My above post says i posted it at 07:25am but it was 08:25am.

2. How come our posts have been reset back to zero. I have added many posts in the past but now this post says I have only done 2.

The server is set to GMT/Zulu time. If you go to your account you should be able to change it to your timezone.

There are some issues with post counts and "last post by X on Y" statuses.

The change of password was necessary because of the way the server stores it compared to Joomla. You have a one-time changeover from the Joomla password to the new password system which is much more secure.

Login/change password loop is also being investigated.

1) Noticed that the formatting of previous posts that used such formatting (such as my notices of the Exeter and Westbury timetables) no longer work. These are useful to retain...

2) Spam messages have already appeared. There appears to be no way for a user to report them.

Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait!

Formatting was supposed to have been retained. Will look into that too.

By the way while we fix things there may be brief instances where you get an error page. If you wait a minute or so and refresh and the page now loads correctly this will probably be why.

There's an awful lot of white space on the forum. The desktop site seems to resemble a mobile site.

One query/issue that seems to be emerging - and I'm aware this may be to do with the fact that everything has been reset to zero, if that's the case feel free to ignore :-)

I used to be able to go straight to unread posts at the end of a thread. On first reading through this new forum I seem to have to go through the whole thread, or try and estimate where the last post I read would have been. Is that how it's going to be from now on? Or will I be able to home in on unread posts in future? (Or is there a setting that needs changing so we can?) It's a feature that was sometimes very useful, I often find myself fitting in a quick read of the forum in a tight time slot and having to go through each thread will certainly make that less practicable.

Building on Keith's point, I had my profile on the old forum set up so that the messages in a topic were displayed with the newest at the top. I've had a quick look and can't find that option at the moment. Am I missing something obvious or has the option disappeared?

I also used to have a window in the left-hand sidebar that showed the latest posts from newest at the top to oldest at the bottom. This makes it very easy to scan through the latest topics without continually having to revert to the Latest Posts index page. Is it possible to have that window reinstated?

Finally, is there an option to mark all topics read to wipe out the pages of "New" that I am currently seeing?

Links in posts made to the previous forum are not reading the html properly. For example a post I made about the London meet with links to the Wiki page now shows as:

Details of the meet are now up to date on the Wiki http://www.SimSig.co.uk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=meets:october2016" target="_blank" title="http://www.SimSig.co.uk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=meets:october2016">here.

The link to the page using the Link button at the top of this reply is without the option of entering your own text to identify the link.

Presumably the server is not set to take account of the BST offset.

If you go to "View my public profile" on the My Account page it shows the historic total of posts made so the data is still held somewhere in the system.

The quote in the above post seems to indicate that spaces in user names are not considered. I.e 'Steam Buff' appears to be regarded as 'Steam'

When I try and edit a posting I have made, pressing the Save Changes button takes me to a Server Error in '/' Application page and the edit is not saved.

Confirmed on the East Coastway, Leeds Ardsley and Leeds Northwest topic where a quote from Sidestick Priority just shows as Sidestick.

Not sure if I like the New site yet.

But I have noticed a couple of things there is no longer a "mark as read" for the forum it was very helpful as it allowed you to clear all new posts woth out going though them all.

Also clicking on last post does not send to the newest post but to the first post. (under the last site if clicking on new it took you to the first new post but under this new is it does not)

There appears to be an issue with the Downloads area at the moment, as I can't find any of the official software to download. I'll make sure the correct people are advised so it can be fixed.

GM, Clicking on Download/Browse Downloads gives user uploaded items under the child board

.... and nothing else.

Further to that, trying to edit a post gives me an application error page
