Hi all, I am from Hong Kong and I had just started to play Simsig for a short while. I found Exeter is quite a fun simulation. At 2045 hours (time in simulation), I followed the timetable and departed train 5B24 from St. Davids plt1 to St. Davids (North) for a turnaround back to St. Davids plt5. However, when 5B24 arrived at St. Davids (North), I soon discovered that there is another on-time timetabled train (2C87) occupying plf5. Therefore, 5B24 has to be stalled at St. Davids (North). However, I do not want a train to stall at St. Davids (North) as it might block the north-bound departure trains. Therefore, I set a call-on route from signal E664 to E360, and let 5B24 get into plt5 and stop behind 2C87. As both of the trains are 46m long in length, I assumed that even both of the trains are inside the platform area, Red Cow junction will not be blocked. As soon as 5B24 stopped behind 2C87, Red Cow junction still shown occupy. As I don't want to block the Red Cow junction, I commanded both trains to shunt forward. After both of them did that, the junction was cleared, and plt5 show 2 train no. at the same time, which is what I expected to happen. At 2057 hours, after south-bound train 2C87 is timetabled to depart and departed, Plt5 shown unoccupy;in the meantime, the track circuit at St. Davids (North) suspiciously shown occupy. After checking the train list, 5B24(which it later reforms as 1B24) was stopping at signal E41 at St. Davids (North) instead of in St. Davids plt5. Sorry for writing such a long description and thank you for reading :D Please be noted that track circuit "THF" shown occupy due to a signalling fault. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Hi there, Do you have a save of the game you can attach? A little hard to work out what's going on from Screenshots alone. Cheers Andrew Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait! Log in to reply |

I think what's happened is that when you signalled 5B24 into the platform, it changed to 1B24 and reversed direction towards Cowley Bridge, as this is the direction the train needs to go in. When you shunted both trains forward, 2C87 went to the left hand end of the platform as you expected it to, however because 1B24 had already reversed, it left the station heading towards Cowley Bridge. To solve, reverse 1B24 using the F2 list, and it should head back into St. Davids. Then, in F2, right click 1B24-> Timetable Options-> Edit timetable. Click the line that says 'Exeter St Davids', and click 'Set Next/Current location'; this will set its timetable back at St Davids, so it will depart at 21:17. While I loaded my saved Exeter simulation and play it again until the incident time, I tried to do the same signalling that I did hours ago. However, the fault did not occur at this time. I probably had mixed up the train running direction of 1B24, as Steamer stated. Log in to reply |
