Did you check the keep me logged in option at some point. That seems to be the issue here as others have had problems with IE8 with the keep logged in box checked. You might want to try downloading the latest release of Firefox and use that instead (personally I don't trust IE as far as I can throw it anyway).

There is nothing wrong with IE8 as far as Simsig is concerned as long as you do not create unnecessary cookies like "keep logged in box checked". Certain cookies change with an upgrade.

Barry
But what about those of us who like to use the keep logged in box checked? Not that I have used IE for around 7 years, as I don't trust it as far as I could throw it either.

logging into anything via a proxy risks your login details being intercepted and abused to, potentially, no end.

IE (Microsoft) has completely changed since 2003. So what do you use to run your computer? Not Microsoft?

We all have our own preferences about how we log into the site and what cookies we accept. No doubt we also all have our own views about Microsoft / Mac OS / Linux and IE / Firefox / Opera / Safari / Chrome. There are probably better places to get into a theological debate on those views than a Forum supposedly dedicated to signalling simulations.

I am well aware that IE has changed since 2003, I still however don't trust it. I use a variety of operating systems Windows 7, Windows XP, Mac OS, and various distributions of Linux.

IE, Firefox and Chrome all have this issue when they have got an update. Let's end the discussion about browsers, the problem is not browser-related.

Given this, could the bad_login page be reworded, as this issue clearly applies to more than Firefox 3.6?

The shop page is temporarily down, but the issue still exists.

Useful to know, thanks. A few days ago I finally managed to utter the right incantation into a well known search engine and it pointed me to a number of topics on the subject with many others having the same problem so it seems to be a Joomla issue which some sites experience; others don't.

Does seem to have been a Joomla problem. Just updated to latest Firefox beta and got straight back in to Kunena forum.

Not entirely sure what is meant here but we're still running Joomla. Some of the threads I've read hint at it being a template problem (xplike.reloaded in this case) which seems rather odd to me but so be it. As some of you noticed, I was playing with a couple of templates last night but there's no way of knowing whether changing it would help in this respect.

Unfortunately, this does not work either.

It does cause the error to occur less frequently, but it will still happen.
