For the sunday of the meet a trip has been organised for Peak rail including visit to signalboxes. All is required now is for people to let me know (via pm) if they are interested so numbers can be confirmed. This is limited to a maximum amount of 20 people Many Thanks Nezza Log in to reply |

quick edit to that nezza- signalbox visits need to be age 16+. so if anyone comes who is under 16 theres no provision for box visits (official ones anyway)

I don't really think that it is fair that some under 16s could come but others would be excluded just my two pence.

" said:I don't really think that it is fair that some under 16s could come but others would be excluded just my two pence. The limit was by numbers, not by "who". At Liverpool Street, for example, the landlord did not want more than a couple of under 16s. Only one came so it was all okay. Another asked but didn't come anyway. it's not a restriction I put in place for the fun of it. I want as many people as possible to enjoy the meets but what the landlord says is what applies. Geoff, that was not the reason I was told hence my post, that'll teach me not to believe everything I hear. Hope your better as well.

As I recall at a previous meet some years ago one young lad turned up with a minder he had never met before but had made arrangements to meet via the forum. I'm not sure we want to encourage such arrangements either. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Cross-Country have now released their Advance tickets for the Friday and Saturday (I haven't checked for the Sunday).

Hi Geoff, is it still definitely Derby as I might actually be able to get there as it's my area.

Yes, still Derby, albeit at the Brunswick (near the station) rather than last year's venue.

Thanks for that Geoff and postal. I'll keep a lookout for booking info. Only planning to attend as 'interested observer' and meet a few faces behind the names as it's the first I've been to. Will only be over for the day due to commitments on the Sunday.

No dates in November taken up for me, I'll be interested too, beside I owe Noel a couple of pints if he is going Some good advance fares on from Trowbridge to Derby, in fact it is cheaper for me to do the more interesting way via London on a HST and do First Class on a Class 222 from St Pancras to Derby, and back, than it is going the direct way through XC via New Street  Log in to reply |
