True enough. But people get into it enough to learn to run SimSig, which of course remains available for those who prefer regulating over large areas (a very different skill IMO, and one I also enjoy).

update to the mechanical permissive block conundrum- spoke to a NR signalman. permissive block of all variants only exists on TCB regulations. mechanical boxes work absolute block only. where permissive working is authorised, mostly platform permissive now, its an SBSI for the method of working. a result of the RSSB reducing the rulebook to easily understandable basics. still working on obtaining info on pulling off for 1 train and calling another on
