NLL Scrolly beta release 29/04/2012 at 06:59 #31941

Thread for NLL Scrolly

NOTE: This is a BETA release, not a full self-install release.

The .bpl needs to be in the same folder as the .exe file, and the .wtt and .wtr files in a subfolder NLL to the folder with the .exe file.

(Note the TT has some errors and trains that don't enter, I'm currently working through these)

the newsthread indicates that this isnt a new release, but surely it is, as it has both scrolly interface instead of paged, and a fair number of different features?

This beta version of NLL scrolly was made available to members during March 2009.

I am having great difficulty in getting all the files of this download to co-operate with each other. If I move the NLL.exe file to a directory one level away from the tt files etc then it wont run and an error message appears complaining about the file SimSig.bpl being missing and if I keep the exe file with the rest then it doesn't show any timetables when it runs. So what am I doing wrong here ?

In all previous downloads, I extract the files with winRAR, then I create a directory for all the files except the exe file. The exe file goes one level nearer the root directory.

The timetable need to go into \SimSig\NLL if its not there create it. The .exe and .bpl need to go into the same folder to launch.

To clarify, the Simsig folder needs the NLL.exe and SimSig.bpi files. The NLL folder needs to be a sub folder of the Simsig folder and has all the other files from the zip.

Since downloading I have renamed the NLL.exe that came with the DL as NLLscroll.exe and put the other files into a folder called NLLscroll. I do like having the paged layout but well done to the person who spent the time on this scroll version and I look forward to giving it a run in game when the chance arises.

OOI, would it be possible to make the Scroll and Paged versions work together or would everyone playing have to run the same version?

If your multiplaying then everyone has to use the same version.

Thanks for the reply, Noel.

Another thing though: the fringe points between the boxes / panels are not marked on.

Trouble with NLL ProjectX is that it has to link with everything else, and considering most of it hasnt been done, NLL PX will probably be a fairly long way away. Nothing to stop someone else writing a really intense timetable for it though.

The idea has not gone unnoticed by the Project X team. As Sam rightly says it chains with Wembley Sub, Euston, WestHampstead, King's Cross and maybe on day a few more.

The first Project X you're likely to see from that area will either be Euston or King's Cross.

Sim time is currently 01:12. I'm currently running a timetable calling itself "NLL Summer WTT May 2004 - Dec 2004.WTT" (copied from the page folder into the scrolly folder, but had to be opened via open (merge with current) to get it to work).

I've got 0Z08-1 on the Down Line around West Hampstead / Brondesbury when I receive the message
Quote:
0Z08-1 received an adverse change of aspect at signal HL1103
(which appears to be the platform starter for Brondesbury). I'm pretty sure I didn't give the driver an ACOA myself, so am very confused why or how he got one.

Thoughts?

As per, thanks in advance for replies on this.

Now running North London Line 15th Oct 2009 and at 00:13 sim time. I've got permission from Temple Mills arr/dep, already signalled 5H80 in, then whilst it is in the overlap beyond signal 5701, 4M59 enters from Temple Mills Yard West Dep and 5H80 receives an ACOA at signal Z375.

It would be possible for the developer to create a matched pair of versions, one paged and one scrolly, that were able to work with each other in multiplay. They would have exactly the same layout, just arranged differently on the display.

Any developer interested in doing this should contact me privately.

NOTE: This is a BETA release, not a full self-install release.
I also gather that the BETA is built on a legacy version of the core code and some of the features available in the latest sims are not enabled in this version.

You are welcome to, but please note that it is a beta version and thus expected to have bugs - i.e. nobody should get stroppy about the fact!

a suggestion:
appr TD at harringay / tottenham and grey arrows and grey arrows at woodgrange park to the next station west - would be useful :)
is there something wrong with the south tottenham shunt signals, i.e. setting a shunt route into the westbound platform doesn't work and setting one out towards temple mills doesn't either - probably just me or an intentional feature
thanks
