Wiki media/attachments fixed - as in the links are now working correctly. Adding/editing attachments still needs work. Some Wiki formatting issues fixed as well. SimSig Boss Log in to reply The following users said thank you: headshot119, Steamer, BarryM, JeroenS |

If posts are removed from the Forum (presumably by a moderator) the number of replies shown on the index page is not reduced. For example as I write https://SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/42150 shows 4 replies on the index page although only 1 reply (from Headshot119) shows when the topic is opened. 2 replies from Sacro and 1 from northroad are no longer visible.

I did notice that myself and it has now had more edits without the full history being shown or at least that is what is shown if you are logged in. If you are just visiting then you see something reduced to just the first two posts. The question and the first answer. I did wonder why it was edited though but presumably it was for a good reason. Moving swiftly on, is there any way to bulk delete PMs from the Inbox and Outbox or do you have to click the delete button for each message separately then agree that you really want to delete the message?

Some updates: - Links now open in the same tab as the previous was a security risk - You can now see your own post if it was deleted with the moderator's username and the date/time of moderation - Avatars should now be 1:1 - If you delete a PM without reading it then you would still have a notification that one (or more) PMs was unread. Now fixed. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

More updates today, including but not limited to: - Experimental icons in the Latest Posts page that allows you to go to the first, first unread, or last post respectively. Feedback would be appreciated. - Forum reply box bigger and sizeable vertically - List of latest seen users (bottom of left hand column) plus forum posts show if a user has been online in the last half hour - Much longer PMs are now possible SimSig Boss Log in to reply The following users said thank you: Steamer, as1981 |

For example, if you were using this section to see whether any regular participants in your hosted sessions are around it is of less use if they have just logged off for the night. I appreciate this limitation might have been there before but not widely known. Log in to reply |

Can I just say the text wrapping improvements on the "green" mobile site are much appreciated.

I am having trouble getting to site. when I opened my browser this morning and typed in www.SimSig.co.uk I get an runtime error or “this page is not redirecting properly” I have been getting this now for over 4hrs. I use Firefox (50.1.0) I also tried it in IE, another user who I had an e-mail for that I contacted was having the same issue except on the mobile site. I have found my way to the main site by going to the mobile site and logging in there then switching to desktop view. But if I logout of the main site I then get the 2 errors above. I know you will think I am nuts saying I cannot get on to site, and have me posting here, but as I stated I had to log on via the mobile site then switch to desktop view, and site works fine. I am adding a screen shot if the Runtime error I have also added a text document with the web address that is appearing when I try to come to the main site (not Via mobile site) Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Last edited: 24/01/2017 at 13:17 by MarkC Reason: Added ScreenShot and other info Log in to reply |

Andrew G in post 91742 said:GeoffM in post 91739 said:The reason - and this is the same problem for every internet website - is that HTTP is stateless. The server obviously knows when you load a page but after that it has no idea whether you're still there, or have navigated away to another page, or gone to get a coffee. Certainly the previous Joomla framework had a cut-off where any user who hadn't requested anything for a period of time would be deemed to be "not logged in" (a bit of a misnomer, but common terminology nonetheless). If a user actually uses "log off" then that can mark the end of a user's online status, but that doesn't happen if you navigate away.Is there are any reason why this is set to the last half hour rather than who is online when you view the homepage? Arguably the Shoutbox AJAX could be used but that introduces its own problems. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

Last night's updates caused problems for people who weren't logged in (my fault). This was then compounded by 3rd party software that dealt with timezone data (badly) which took a long time to trace. Apologies for the inconvenience.

GeoffM in post 91739 said:- Experimental icons in the Latest Posts page that allows you to go to the first, first unread, or last post respectively. Feedback would be appreciated. The first unread post feature is greatly appreciated. Could the "nav=unread" link also be added to the red "NEW" flash, which seems a more intuitive click target to me? Other than that, for me the buttons themselves currently feel a bit like duplicated functionality. The first post button seems to do the same thing as clicking on the thread title immediately next to it. With the above proposal, the "unread post" button would mostly duplicate the "NEW" badge, except that it's always visible. And the last post button duplicates the "Latest post" link on the rightmost column, although it might save some mouse travel and also be useful in the "green" mobile layout because (depending on the length of the title) you don't necessarily have to swipe the thread list in order to click the "Latest post" link. So personally I'd just keep the ">|" button, but if others find them more useful I'm not heavily opposed to keeping the rest, either. Entirely agree, incorporate the "nav=unread" link into the "NEW" flash, remove link to first post as it is superfluous and retain link to last post.
