Just bought the sim and had 6m97 go into briggs gf no problem as had token, get phone call to say release frame and it goes to briggs steetley as tt. On a separate note losing a few 6xxx class coming out of tunstead as shunter phones I give permission to enter set route to great rocks fro crew change in advance before it enters and it never does!

Going to go through my last saves as I snapshot every half hour plus others. Trying to find the lost 6XXX freights from tunstead to great jn. Immediately after the lost freight I get a shunter phone to send LE )X seris in on same line. When I click scratchpad note of 6X series it says no train anywhere! Must be an instant amazon portal somewhere.

I like the recent tweaks that have been made to this sim but I've just noticed one issue still persists, that of trains arriving from Earles Sdgs without being accepted by Edale. Running the 1987 TT I've just had 1M29 0604 Sheffield - Liverpool arrive at Edale Down home with his slippers on while I was busy sorting a few moves out at Peak Forest. The Down LC and TOL roundels on the Earles block instrument were both flashing. Just as in the Edinburgh sim, where if you dont give the Ladybank branch slot to Hilton Jn reasonably promptly you get a phone call from Hilton Jn, I would expect Earles to give you a call if you don't acknowledge the LC request. Any ideas when a signal map is going to be published as i'm having problems getting lost & not knowing where trains are around Peak Forest & Buxton freight lines?

Really enjoying this Sim as a single player. Fantastic mix. Is there a signal map with names available? I found myself guessing routes for some of the early trains.

Have you checked that the route from BX22 has been released. It will be red, but will still have a white stem if the signal hasn't had its route released. BX22 is the entrance signal to the single line from Buxton. Once the route has been released, you should be able to left click the replace token button on the Great Rocks Token Machine. Another problem now when 6M97 arrives at Buxton loop arrival road, the train is overhanging thus blocking the points, so can't send the train to Briggs

I've got a quick question about the banking loco move which gets it to the Great Rocks end of the train it will couple to the rear of. I'm playing the 1987 TT in TCB mode (I'll be doing it in AB mode once I get used to how it all works). 0T83 has left Peak Forest sidings at 06.00 and is running towards Great Rocks to shunt in behind "SIG 12/23/28", as the TT states. Now reversing behind GR12 is easy - you just signal the train onto the single line to Buxton. But this requires the line to be clear and the token in the machine. I've got 7T88 making its way from Buxton towards Great Rocks (running on time, so it is where it should be). 0T83 is sitting at GR18 (also running on time), waiting to proceed behind one of the three signals (12, 23, 28) that will enable it to join the rear of 6J31. From what I can work out, the only signal 0T83 can reverse behind from here is GR12, because to get it in behind GR23 or GR28 would require a slot towards Tunstead, and calling them up to ask for one results on them telling you that 0T83 is not expected. Am I right that this is the case? Because if it is, then 0T83 is going to be delayed while 7T88 makes its way from Buxton. Log in to reply |

That's right. In real life the banker would shunt out into the single line and then once the banked train is clear of the crossover it would be signalled onto the back of the train without the train stopping. The banker needs to be in place before the train is accepted from tunstead.

Here's an interesting little thing I just encountered. I had the banking loco 0T83 running towards Great Rocks to reverse behind GR12, but it was a bit early, and I had a loco waiting at Buxton to come round the single line. So I decided to abandon 0T83's timetable, and authorise it to pass GR12 at danger to run wrong road in behind GR18. Don't ask me why I chose to do this - I just did (yes, yes - with hindsight I should have abandoned the TT and ran it in behind GR11 in the U/D Through Siding). Anyway, having removed a token from the machine for 0T83, it turns out that authorising it to pass GR12 at danger and run in behind GR18 results in the loco keeping the token. It appears that the sim only recognises that it has been handed back if the loco fulfils its TT duties and runs right road in behind the train it's supposed to be banking on the Up line. Because of this, I had to keep the other loco back at Buxton and re-run 0T83 back behind GR12. But now the problem is that although a token is out of the machine, you can't set a route from GR18 onto the single line for 0T83. The only way to fix things is to authorise 0T83 to pass GR18 at danger, with its TT reinstated. It then stops behind GR12, ready to run onto the back of its train. Only by doing this can you force the sim to give back the token so you can free up the single line. Obviously, authorising a loco to pass GR12 at danger to run wrong road in behind GR18 shouldn't be a move you need to make, but should the sim not be programmed to "give back" the token if a train passes GR12, regardless of which road is set for it? No, tokens are fussy and you need to stick with timetabled moves.

OK, here's one that I don't think has been mentioned in this thread yet. I'm playing the 1987 TT in AB mode, loader version 4.8.2. Up trains from Edale to Earles Sidings - I've got line clear from Earles Sidings, and I've noticed that when trains pass EE16 signal, the block instrument automatically changes to "train on line" if I don't do it first.
