This may seem a bit trivial and may have been mentioned in a previous post, but couldn't the signallers in the sim be a bit more polite? Every time that a level crossing user phones the signaller to advise him that they have finished using the crossing, the signaller just says 'OK' I'm sure that in real life, the signaller would perhaps even crack a joke, but at least say 'thanks' or 'thank you' Or maybe they don't. I don't know. Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

In real life you are correct, the process of arranging for line block and line clear would be a bit more wordy, but the salient points of Safety Critical communication is to be clear, precise and to the point. Without splitting hairs over calls that may be found on line or any real life odd examples, you wouldn't make a joke in such calls.

That's the kind of comment I meant when I used the incorrect description 'joke' In actual fact, I've been reading some of the RAIB reports. The point is, would it be possible to amend the signaller’s reply in the sims to something a bit more akin to those in real life?
