Rabble rousing on Twitter against your employer's client will pretty much guarantee your dismissal in any industry. That isn't what happened, though. He wasn't "rabble-rousing on Twitter" - he was interviewed by the Independent. Following this, Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill, of Imber in the County of Wiltshire, CBE and Chair of Network Rail at the time, started a campaign to find out which company employed him and then blackmail that company's CEO to sack him. To my knowledge he didn't tweet about it until after he was sacked.
