That isn't what happened, though. He wasn't "rabble-rousing on Twitter" - he was interviewed by the Independent. Following this, Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill, of Imber in the County of Wiltshire, CBE and Chair of Network Rail at the time, started a campaign to find out which company employed him and then blackmail that company's CEO to sack him. To my knowledge he didn't tweet about it until after he was sacked.

I'd love to know who the bobbies were. Probably long gone by the time I knew the London Division (they looked pretty senior on the clip). But that job was just as heavy, in its way, as any mechanical box... the pressure was such that there were a number of nervous breakdowns in the early days and in the end a third signalman had to be rostered on each shift, with the rule being no more than 4 hours on Station End where the real pressure was.
