Is there a way to gift a licence to someone after it has been 'used'? For example, say I had bought a sim and passed the cooling off period by a long way, enjoyed the sim and gotten my moneys worth and wanted to gift the licence to another user when I had had got my fill, (like a hand-me-downs sorta deal) Is that possible? If so: how? Also if the documentation could be updated regarding gifting of licenses that would be tremendous, as currently it's not very clear. It basically hints that it IS possible but doesn't actually tell you how. Thanks ![]() 7-5-5, closing of comment Log in to reply |

Robyn in post 160930 said:Is there a way to gift a licence to someone after it has been 'used'?Good evening. The short answer is no. The licence has been used. As per the software license agreement found here Part 2 – SimSig Simulation Licence Agreement License 1. Under this Software License Agreement (the Agreement), Cajon Rail LLC (the Vendor) grants to the user (the Licensee) a non-exclusive and non-transferable license (the License) to use SimSig simulation files (the Simulation). 2. Simulation includes the data and any related printed, electronic and online documentation and any other files that may accompany the product. 3. Title, copyright, intellectual property rights and distribution rights of the Software remain exclusively with the Vendor. Intellectual property rights include the look and feel of the Simulation. This Agreement constitutes a license for use only and is not in any way a transfer of ownership rights to the Simulation. 4. The rights and obligations of this Agreement are personal rights granted to the Licensee only. The Licensee may not transfer or assign any of the rights or obligations granted under this Agreement to any other person or legal entity. The Licensee may not make available the Simulation for use by one or more third parties. 5. The Simulation may not be modified, reverse-engineered, or de-compiled in any manner through current or future available technologies. 6. Failure to comply with any of the terms under the License section will be considered a material breach of this Agreement. To clarify the gifting scenario. The sim in question would have to be unused and not allocated to a machine. Under my account and then Manage my licences.. Any unallocated sim eligible for donation/gifts will have the relevant "donate" option available. Further clarification. You couldn't purchase games on the playstation, then look to send them off to someone else when you're tired of them. Hope this answers your questions.
