In December, I started working on a Leamington Spa & Fenny Compton timetable to chain with the below-mentioned Marylebone simulation. I am closing in on finishing the timetable. Then, I will consult with others to refine the TT further and ensure it chains with Marylebone successfully.

It's possible I release the simulation first once refined, and then go back to make it chainable with Marylebone. This would allow people to play a newer simulation on LS&FC sooner.

In between i have also done a refresh on Westbury 2007 'official' timetable which is now in for release with the sim. Fixes the noted timetable bugs and after more research a tidy up using decisions.

After that I am doing a [=== REDACTED ===] :-)

Bill
Now that the [=== REDACTED ===] is done I am doing a freight addon for my simplified Kings Cross 1964, currently available as a 'passenger only' timetable.
Aim is to add a bit more variety without making it too hard for one (patient) player, and that no unavoidable delays are baked in.

Release timing will depend on how much the freight messes things up once merged in, as of now it is working OK alone and looking OK on paper.

Bill

Update on Chicago Loop 2021 TT pack

rfw in post 142785 said:
I'm writing a 2021 timetable pack for the much under loved Chicago Loop.

The core element of this, the normal SSUx, So & Suo timetables are now complete to a standard that I'd be happy to release, but still am having issues with load time and autosaves at around 1m30s to load in from the menu - I guess SimSig isn't optimised for these operations when the timetable contains a silly 15183 possible trains where every train references a single decision deciding the day to run, does anyone else run into long load and save times with chunky timetables or can I blame it on my potato of a computer

rfw in post 142785 said:
This increases the theoretical maximum unique UIDs that can exist in a single timetable opening up the opportunity for a Project X esc 'chaos' timetable where I throw a ridiculous number of trains into the loop and hope for junction conflicts.
I'm now play testing the first iteration of this intense timetable, I have noted a couple of changes in the early morning to improve flow and am considering reducing the number of trains in the morning peak as the queue at Clinton often stops new trains from entering the sim and in in danger of turning into a log jam puzzle, I wanted this to be an intense timetable for multiplayer use but may have overdone it a bit - I had 21 trains in the area earlier (see screencap)

rfw in post 142785 said:
Should I feel particularly self-loathing, I'm considering creating a 'Friday 13th' timetable variant using a butt ton of decisions to add a scaled down 'Gremins at Work' level of delays (increased dwell times) and simulated reduced power (by capping train max speed, acceleration type and weight) without the failures that'd render this sim unusable very quickly.
The Friday 13th development has hit a bit of a snag in that my intended approach was to have each trip as an individual train, and use decisions to roll the dice on what bad thing should happen to the train (extended dwell to simulate the wrong kind of food trolley and potentially crippling loss of power), which if I remember my calculations rightly is 3 or 4 decisions per trip resulting in about ~70 odd permutations of a journey for each journey across the sim. This stupidity in the number of decisions and the want of trains to terminate-reverse when terminating at CLALAK, ADAWAB & HWLIB after traversing the junctions, which is exacerbated by the fact that there is no route programmed from the signals they now face (X16, X18 & X108) and no mention of the reverse happening to the user in game or in the wiki, instead of the expected and behaviour seen elsewhere of terminate-forward.

If anyone has access to and can give me a copy of historical CTA L schedules that cover all the lines in the loop I would be greatly appreciative, but have come up short on the Googles and not finding a complete set & I don't want to hassle the busy CTA helpdesk with a request for this and don't know if I can file a FOIA from this side of the pond.

Due to my want to release them at the same time, I anticipate that the 2021 timetable will be released at the same time as the intense timetable at the end of my work's spring term.

The Friday 13th addition to the bundle won't be complete by that time and will probably release in the autumn, possibly with a possible 2022 CTA schedule.

The train now standing on platform 2, should be on the rails

Leamington Spa & Fenny Compton (September 2021) is nearly complete. It will be chainable with Marylebone (September 2021) upon release. Once again, wellgroomed has been generous enough to donate his time and expertise with LS&FC as he did on Marylebone.

Up next - Oxford (September 2021), made to be chainable with Marylebone.

"Marylebone-Oxford-LS&FC (September 2021) chain" will be possible soon enough.

ATM I'm writing a summer 1988 BR era timetable for Cardiff PSB sim. All the summer 1988 loco diagrams I have have been used on all trains that run through the sim. These inlude all the BR Western Region Diesel loco diagrams incl. shunters, the RfD Speedlink loco diagrams. Crewe Diesel summer 1988 loco diagrams & others. Be warned that this TT will be extremly busy with a wide variety of coal, steel, petroleum traffic & freightliner trains to & from Pengam FLT. Not to mention the passenger & parcels traffic too. Both the station working books for Cardiff Central station covering the main line platforms & the Valleys platforms will also be used to make it as accurate as I can.

That's great news Pascal, I always love your timetables, looking forward to adding some loco numbers to your formations as I have a 1988 combined volume.

Slightly off topic, do you know if the 82's worked to Carlisle in 1979-80, as I'm adding loco numbers to that TT but I have only seen pictures of them as far north as Liverpool.

Thanks for the great TT's.

I'd probably say Cl.82 locos went up & down the lengthg of the WCML back in the 1970s . I do have the Cl.81-Cl.85 AC electric loco diagrams as well as those for Cl.86/1, Cl.86/0, Cl.86/2 & Cl.87 locos. I did update the Carlisle 79/80 TT back in the Autumn of 2020. However it wasnt untilI'd finished adding them all into the Carlisle TT I found out that I'd updated the wrong TT version. So I've got to do it all again plus adding in some diesel loco diagrams against some other trains. But as yet I've not found the incline to do it all again. I will at some point, but too busy with other projects atm. The Cl.81-Cl.85 AC electric loco diagrams aren't specific to type. So those trains worked by those locos could be any type of AC electrics from Cl.81 through to Cl.85 which obviously could have been worked by Cl.82 locos. In the TT they'd be shown in the train types as Cl.81-Cl.85..... it's down to the user running the TT to picture whichever class of AC eletric is on the front I guess.

A quick update on the timetable, based on that of Sunday 08th May 2022, which I have been working on for the Three Bridges sim.

I have ended up with a total of 1117 trains in the train list which is quite a few considering I have been doing a Sunday timetable! Having got all those into the list my next step will be to do the stock allocations for each train. Seeing as I don't live in the Three Bridges area (and don't go down towards the sim area unless work sends me down there) I was unsure what to put in for a good number of the trains and had been using the "Tiger" system to find out the number of carriages for some of the trains. It was always going to be guesswork for the rest, however, until the receipt recently of some very useful information which will be of considerable help.

Once the traction allocations are done I have to link up the inbound and outbound workings at Brighton, Caterham, Gatwick, Purley, Tattenham Corner and West Croydon. Once that is done, and I am sure that all is in working order, I will run testing sessions in 2 hour slots. Before testing, however, I have quite a bit of work to do.

The timetable, when it is tested, will be made all the more fun by engineering works resulting in fewer lines being available in what will be a custom scenario: the timetable being tested has been built around the scenario in question which involves line closures in panels 1A, 1B, 1C, 2 and 6 (and closure of Platform 6 at Gatwick Airport) for engineering works. Keep a lookout for the test sessions which will take place: if all goes well I will release it.

Cheers,
Dave

The short answer is no, not with the sim in its current form.

Kings Cross was borderline for a 2015 and took a lot of manipulation of the data for it to work.

Peterborough would need a new 2013+ era to take into account of the extra platforms and other changes that were made back then.

Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!!

Thanks for the great TT's.
With reference to your first paragraph Bossman I'm not adding specific loco numbers to the trains. What I've done is added in the actual loco diagram/Unit Circuit No into the train description field. For exampleTI.131 FGWB TI Cl.37/0) this means that the train is being worked by RfD Tinsley Cl.37/0 on TI.131 loco diagram which details what the loco is booked to do on that day & where it get fuelled etc. Regarding InterCity Western Region HSTs & the Cardiff Canton Cl.155 Super Sprinters I've added the Circuit number in a similar way. Circuit numbers are used for DMU/EMU & HST sets & do exactly the same thing as locos but for units. There aren't any actual specific loco numbers in the TT, but the trains are all worked by the specific loco type that is diagrammed to work that train. When you read what I've put on the General tab of the TT you'll see exactly what publications I own to create this timetable. The timetable itself is nearly finishh apart from one particular issue that the developer is looking into. Sit-rep for now is that the TT currenlt contains 1335 trains & I'll be working on it everyday until the last train is added & then we can start the testing before the TT is released. So hopefully those of you particularly insterested in the is one the wait won't be too much longer. When this is released my next project will be to write a summer 1990 timetable for both Plymouth & Exeter sims so the TT will work over both sims chained. But I won't start that until the Cardiff summer 1988 TT is released.

Thank you Pascal, the circuit diagrams will be a great help. I enjoy adding loco numbers as you go to the trouble of putting the coach and wagon formations in the timetables and it just adds to the realism, besides I need a use for all my old spotters books. Looking forward to the 1990 TTs for Plymouth and Exeter.

I'm considering looking at West Midlands as the basis for my next timetables, probably capturing the data for sometime next month.

If anyone's got any allocation / diagram data, especially for WMT or Chiltern, I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks
Jamie

For those of you interested in my Cardiff PSB summer 1988 timetable. It's currently being tested solo by a handful of users & issues relating to the timetable are being resolved. Once completed the TT will be sent for public release. This timetable is so far the largest by number of trains I've written. At present there are roughly 1,483 trains in it, but that figure will rise by the time it's finished. So should keep those of you who intend to run busy. On another note I'm now writing a summer 1990 TT for both Exeter & Plymouth sims which will chain.
