As you may have gathered, Three Bridges development is well underway. In fact this weekend marks a transition from alpha testing to beta testing which, in simple terms, means that the sim is in an a very advanced stage. Once in Beta, a sim is considered "finished" in terms of development but beta testers are the gate keepers as a final "fresh eyes" check before release and should find very few issues. That said, beta testing is not trivial and not to be rushed so don't expect a sim imminently! The sim itself covers panels 1 (A/B/C), 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the signalbox, plus a slightly simplified Reigate box. Panel 7, for those of you on your toes, is already simulated in the Horsham simulation. The sim chains to Victoria Central, London Bridge, Oxted, Horsham, East Coastway, and West Coastway. The two remaining connections would be to Guildford and Tonbridge (Ashford IECC). ARS is provided (startup option). Personally I find the 2009 timetable to be quite challenging given the frequent joining and dividing moves, and ballerina displays around Redhill and Reigate with shuttles fitting in between longer distance movements. The Brighton simulation will still be available but is unlikely to be able to chain to anything anymore. GeoffM in post 119699 said:Hi Geoff, Obviously extremely happy to see the news about Three Bridges as it fills in the missing gap in the timetables I write and having been very patient for a number of years! Saying it will chain to West Coastway...do you mean Lancing or is there a larger West Coastway in development / planned? Gareth Log in to reply |

As the cat now appears to be out the bag, so to speak, I can reveal that I am in the process of extending Lancing to become a 'West Coastway' sim in the style of East Coastway. However it is still in the early stages so please do not ask 'That question ' I do have two other sims (again it will be wait and see what they are) that are at a more advanced stage. West Coastway when it appears will cover Lancing, Billinghurst, Pulborough, Amberley, Arundel, Littlehampton, Barnham, Bognor and Chichester boxes, with maybe some surprises in the fullness of time. Again to re-emphasize this sim is still in the very early stages of building. West Coastway would be a good idea. Would be quite a large sim though as it would probably have to incorporate an expanded Lancing (the PSB actually controls, IRL, Aldrington to Angmering) and would also have to cover Littlehampton, Arundel Junction, Barnham, Bognor, Chichester, Emsworth and Havant to Bedhampton, where it would chain to Portsmouth and that would probably take a good while to construct being a mix of AB (mechanical boxes at Bognor and Littlehampton) and TCB. Horsham could be made to chain in but a link would be needed from Arundel PSB to cover Arundel to Christ's Hospital. A whole load of new information came in, plus adding an extra era, so it is taking a bit longer than anticipated. We want it to be as accurate as possible, of course!
