Hello I am playing the Edingburgh Sim at the moment which I think has to be one of the best so far. During this I have had lots of track side faults, and wanted to cancel trains, But have found with some I need to select run to another timetable, and choose the train number that it will next run to,n and then select the various timetable, is it possible that you could have an option that would select the "Next Train" if it was shown in the timetable, which then presented a box with the stations in. E.G. If I wanted to turn a train round at Haymarket instead of going into Waverley, I could choose, "Run to NExt Train", the net trains timetable would pop up, I could then choose Haymarket. I think this would be useful as i have had a similar issue with edinburgh. It should only be done on sims where some trains stay in the box- KX and edinbugh mainly IIRC Any train that has a sequence of new services should have an option where a drop-down list of that sets services are selectable as the next one Having said this however i would say that the new system where you can select the TT to run to and the next step is good enough at least for the time being i feel. I just use sticky notes of the following services to work out what needs to be next Log in to reply |

I would see this as a suggestion added to the "run to..." window, not to replace it. So if it had a simple "next train" activity then this would appear as an option, followed by the existing controls. I need to think about aituations other than single "next train" activities though.

As it is sometimes necessary to cancel the timetable to make an exceptional movement, I did prefer it when the default option in "Run to another timetable" was the previous journey, rather than have to scroll through the whole list. For at least 90% of occasions when I use "run to another timetable" it is to reassign the original headcode. I suspect most of the other 10% is to "step up" as has been mentioned and would also be a useful option to save having to look through and find the "next train" on the timetable, so a good idea.

While we're at it, I'd like to see the option to type in the new train identity restored; it's often much quicker than trying to find it from a drop-down list.
