Ive got a train running between the Melksham Chord (Chippenham) and Bathampton Junction which says its doing 125 mph. I thought that the only part of the GWML that was cleared for 125 mph running was Didcot Parkway - Subway Junction area. Anyone who knows more about it able to help? It's 125mph from the Acton Yard area to Middle Hill tunnel, with some restrictions along the way.

Correct, and the other part, if you also didn't know, is Royal Wootton Bassett Jn to Bristol Parkway is 125 too, though coming from Bristol Parkway it's 100 until Westerleigh Junction, but 125 throughout the other way, for some reason.

There are a couple of 110 restrictions on the Badminton Route young James around Alderton and Chipping Sodbury tunnels. Used to sign the road that way.

You need a broadband connections as the various sections are in the 100 - 250Mb range. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 01/11/2011 at 23:08 by postal Log in to reply The following users said thank you: Gwasanaethau, Sam Tugwell |

Still I'd be alert if I was driving, just standing in a pack HST in a MK3 on a line (to me) that goes on and on and on with nothing to do, I just daydream...equally the same if sitting on the horrid MK3 seating...but if I was up front in a MTU powercar with keeping an eye on the road, powering/braking through different limits, responding to DSD etc, I'd be fine!
