When trains arrive at Euston, the Train Description of the arriving trains always goes in the outward berth. Is this normal practice? Most annoying if it is. :S

I can't remember whether I had documentation for this or had to guess. For a main route into the platform, the description goes into the rear (buffer stop end) berth. For a calling-on route it goes into the front berth. Rear steps to front if empty when the starting signal clears. Front steps to rear if empty when a route into the platform is set (but if that's a main route, the incoming train will overwrite the description). All these stepping rules are conditioned on there being a description in the berth - if not, you do *NOT* get a **** appearing. Log in to reply |

That isn't happening - every arriving train is only stepping into the departure end; plus when an ID is already in the departure berth it gets overwritten rather than pushed to the buffer stops.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |

I can confirm that this is what is happening in Wembley Mainline at Euston Station

That does not happen in the sim. I was expecting it to work the way you stated, similar to LBASC, but the inward train number steps into the front berth. If I put the out going train number in the front berth, as I do at LBASC, before the train arrives, the inward train number overrides it on arrival. At no point does any train number go into the rear berth except those seeded at the beginning.

I meant to have put this in the manual but forgot. Wembley ML is a little unusual for TD stepping at a terminus. All inbound trains will step to the signal/country end berth only. I need to double check whether existing TDs get pushed back towards the buffer stops.

I need to double check whether existing TDs get pushed back towards the buffer stops. Thanks for the clarification Geoff. Having been playing Wembley Mainline, I can confirm that an existing headcode in the country Berth does get replaced rather than pushed. (that is when you interpose into the country berth of the empty platform. Didn't notice what happens with a train calling on but will look when it next happens) Edit to add Have just Called 0M11 onto 1M11 in P15 and can confirm that the 1M11 is replaced by 0M11 rather than pushed back. I've attached a save about 5 seconds before this happens incase its useful. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Last edited: 21/07/2014 at 21:09 by y10g9 Reason: addition Log in to reply |

Could do with the C Berths in the next update. Log in to reply |

" said:" said:My earlier comment was wrong - the sim (V1.1) now does what you say. However, the C berths have been in there since day ! for platforms 8 to 11.I meant to have put this in the manual but forgot. Wembley ML is a little unusual for TD stepping at a terminus.
