I'd certainly be near the front of the purchasing queue if it ever does come to life!

I'd very much like to know where to find it as well. This sim, if ever produced, would be the icing on the cake for me. I'd buy it instantly with not a minute of hesitation :)

So would I. It isn't the only one I would buy with not a minute of hesitation. If Doncaster PSB came out though it would provide a chain with multiple other sims at the same time (West Yorkshire, York, Peterborough, Sheffield thinking off the top of my head) which would only leave the line through Morpeth, Alnmouth and Berwick before it would be possible to do a SimSig chain from London Kings Cross to Scotland. Would be huge fun.

Dave
Meanwhile on the WCML with the release of Crewe & Preston we (technically) could do Brighton/Eastbourne To Motherwell!
and ALL the Virgin/Avanti WC services would be in-sim (though we lack Glasgow stn & Blackpool & Bham-Shrewsbury but close enough!)

Though I agree Doncaster would link E-W as well as N-S and the freight plus passenger plus scenarios would be incredible, it'd be 2nd in my list of sims too!

That looks ace dave! I've attempted to start a mock of Doncaster, but the sheer size is very offputting xD yours is very long and a decent size with a staedy amount of traffic I would think!
A Doncaster mock up has been done already...
Has it? oooh any idea where one would find this mock-up? would save me making one xD
So far nobody has said where we can find the mock-up of a Doncaster sim.
Plus, has anybody done a mock-up of the section through Morpeth and northwards towards Berwick which would, with Doncaster, enable the massive chain from London to Edinburgh?

Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.

I have never heard any mention of the likelihood of a sim covering the area between Morpeth and the Edinburgh sim. Would be good though!

Neither have I. I think that most sims in development are not mentioned at all. It's usually a surprise when they are released. We know that Cambridge is being updated for the loader and this is excellent! Another one for me to buy instantly, assuming I have the funds available.

Remember that anyone tackling that as a project would probably also include the Blyth and Tyne from Morpeth and Benton across to Blyth, Ashington and Alcan to make the sim a bit more interesting. That area is going to see quite a bit of change over the next couple of years as the line is re-opened for passenger traffic (hopefully) so the collection of the data is going to be a bit problematic.

Does my memory play tricks on me; didn't you say that before? That'll be just brilliant. I'll obviously make a donation

Time for a 3-parter

Hey everyone, so I've been busy working on a Blackpool sim (preston fringe - Blackpool)

with 3 eras, a
2017-present (Modern)
2011-2017 (Blackpool No1 Abolished, Loops and sidings removed in prep for resignallng)
1975-2011 (all boxes with sidings included for older TTs)

here is the mid era one (2011-2017) and next will be the older era!

its a basic simple sim but I think could be enjoyable solo OR in a MP game

i also decided to use the Hunts X style lever frames which could be disabled but was good fun making them!

I'd suggest (unless you have the info for it) that the older era is 1982-2011 to account for Blackpool South box closing, as the line was double track and platforms up until then. It does look fun.

ah was it 1982? i couldn't find a sooner date! as there were a few other boxes, plus thee loop at salwick and the Fast lines at Kirkham so might have to re-work the layout a little to fit it all in!

Very nice. For info, the sidings at Salwick and Kirkham, and the Kirkham avoiding lines, remained in use/in situ until just before the temporary closure of the line in 2017 for electrification, so I'd show them as operational in the 2011-2017 era.

The Fleetwood branch, however, was mothballed by this time.

Next up 1982 - 2011 While
Blackpool North No1, Weeton & Singelton Station boxes were still open
The fast lines at Kirkham in regular use, and the sidings there were still in situ!
Salwick still retain its UGL
Plus the Fleetwood branch still saw some traffic
and as per the previous one the frames are there and are getting rather large! it's annoying they are so large so wouldn't be feasible for a sim though love it if they were makes it so much more fun!

ah did they? I've found diagrams online of them all taped over on the diagrams so assumed they went well before the re-signalling! good to know, I'll get them updated!

I guess rather basic in Simsig, but you could add in the new passing loop currently under construction at Brading. When they (eventually - they're running very late) get the new trains a gala day with all 5 could be an interesting fictional operation!

The previous 20/40 timetable I believe is a hangover from a 20/20/20 timetable. Looking the old timetable on graph you can clearly see where the 3rd train would have been. Would defo be intresting with 4tph.

I’ve asked a couple of times where I can find the Doncaster mock-up but nobody has said yet.
I’m beginning to wonder whether it still exists.

I've got one from 4-11-2007 does that one count? It is not made by me, and it does not appear to be finished. The main line runs from Grantham towards somewhere around Moss, and the lines from Crowle and Thorne North are in it, but all lines towards the west are cut of at random places and some yards are missing south of Doncaster, as is the avoiding line.
