Working my way through the excellent 2009 timetable on Slough. I particularly like the ability to call the neighboring signalers to request line blocks from Twyford or Hayes.

I currently have a fairly long running TCF on the UP main at Maidenhead, so i'd called up Twyford to block the main which they duly did and "fast" trains began to enter on the relief line as expected. A little while later I had a signal failure on the relief line so called Twyford back to ask for a block on all lines. Almost immediately trains began to reappear along the main line (1K61 and 1L55 as shown in the screenshot) but according to the messages window (also in the screenshot) they entered on the Up Relief, but of course they shouldn't be appearing at all. A bit puzzling.

Save game also attached.

I can only apologise, it would embarrassingly appear I neglected to actually implement all the code on the Twyford entry points for the line block stuff to work correctly. The Hayes end of the sim does appear to be fully/properly implemented.

With the code how it is in the released sim the only scenario for line blocks at that end of the sim that will actually work is diverting trains booked main line onto the relief; as you had used previously – anything else will result in the behaviour in your saved game, where Reading panel will just send trains booked line.

I'll shortly update the manual to reflect this temporarily as a known issue; and will work to try and sort a sim update over the coming week or so.

Thanks James. Once I'd reopened the main lines trains booked relief would then be sent main line (as I'd expected), it just seems to be when all lines are blocked that a problem is seen.

Cheers,
Andy
