Not quite, the lettered screen position hot keys all use Shift + letter, so they don't collide with the regular shortcut hot keys.

The characteristics (Length, Speed, Power) was asked for a little while ago on the forum. Sims are also now getting loop/platform lengths displayed on the panel so this helps with the regulation. Adding the status makes it easier to see what the train is actually doing, especially when in multiplayer. It doesn't particularly bother me, just wondered why. Incidentally, I, like some other users, also like the clearer text Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

(EDIT: I didn't see there's already a thread with similar comments) For me the timetable window still needs some refinement to make it usable. I know others have different approaches, but my preference is to keep the timetable window open but in one corner of the screen. The first snag is that when you close the TT window, the position and size of the window is not retained (unlike the previous version). Secondly, the new layout requires way too much screen real estate; for example in the attached screenshot, in v4 the TT box would easily be able to display the next 6-8 locations, whereas in v5 I can't see any. When running a New St for example screen estate is a real premium. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Last edited: 27/06/2020 at 15:44 by belly buster Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Geoff, Generally, I'm finding things work, to the limited extent that I've tried them. No gripes with font size or typeface. However, the clock needs some work, which may be in hand. The passing of the seconds is a minor "flashing " irritant, which I expect I will get used to. The wholesale flashing of the whole clock screen on an intermittent basis is a different matter. If I were epileptic, I would be afraid it would have the same effect as a strobe light. I'll keep you posted, but generally well done! Unless I'm mistaken another nice touch is that the Messages window is now wider. Saves having to widen it each time it's loaded when I start a sim. The point that others have raised about the clock being too prominent and a distraction doesn't apply to me as I'm too busy looking at what's going on elsewhere so don't notice it. Could relate to the number of screens being used I suppose. Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

Sorry to bring this up again, but I hadn't realised there was the ability to lock licences to my computer to access offline! (I know to always look at new features before jumping in with both feet...) I allocated all my licences to my computer and locked them but cant access them offline still. When I do go on the dropdown bar this is what I get is the attached image. Is this because my licences didn't upgrade with the loader? Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

It's been mentioned up thread that Geoff is looking into the issue of locked licenses not working when the computer is not connected to the internet. An update will be posted when it's sorted out.

Double-clicking again will bring it back to the default four line size. If you want to get it back to where you had it set to with the Simsig Tool, you will have to re-run the tool, which is an impractical solution.bugsy in post 128236 said:Clever stuff. I am not a huge fan of the V5 loader, perhaps just because I prefer familiararity. I really did like the old clock format though and I feel that the new toolbar which has the clock is too big. On the basis that the majority of the functions, can you not put layout style in the options. V4 and V5 so people can choose? Similarly for the UI, I much prefer the old train timetable layout. As I have previously said, I would like ways to remove simulations. They clog up the sim list and I will never play some of them because they are too small or not as good as some other sims. I don't feel like we should be forced to have every sim installed just incase we want to buy it or want to play it. Log in to reply |

I don't feel like we should be forced to have every sim installed just incase we want to buy it or want to play it.This was my reaction as well when the new method of installing sims was rolled out all those years ago. I actually keep a (now not so) little file on my computer with little reviews of each sim that was primarily motivated by a desire to remember which sims I'd actually played! The nice idea to highlight sims you don't have a license for (at least not one assigned to that computer) in pink was a big improvement. But have you noticed the new tick box, which I very much like, that allows you to 'only show installed and owned/free simulations'. It doesn't solve the problem of free sims you'll never play, but there are honestly not that many of them. I'm very much with you in the 'keep things the same' camp. I'll leave it at that, but the old way of downloading each simulation (although I kinda liked it and preferred it) was never that intuitive and I don't think we can reasonably dig our heels in on this point can we?
